누가복음 21장

예수께서 눈을 들어 부자들이 연보궤에 헌금 넣는 것을 보시고

풀이: 예수가 눈을 들어, 부자들이 성전 헌금함에 예물을 넣는 모습을 바라보았다.

And he looked up, and saw the rich men casting their gifts into the treasury.

또 어떤 가난한 과부의 두 렙돈 넣는 것을 보시고

풀이: 그러다 어느 가난한 과부가 거기에 작은 동전 두 닢을 넣는 것도 보았다.

And he saw also a certain poor widow casting in thither two mites.

가라사대 내가 참으로 너희에게 말하노니 이 가난한 과부가 모든 사람보다 많이 넣었도다

풀이: 그가 말했다. "내가 참으로 너희에게 말한다. 이 가난한 과부가 저들 누구보다 많이 넣었다."

And he said, Of a truth I say unto you, that this poor widow hath cast in more than they all:

저들은 그 풍족한 중에서 헌금을 넣었거니와 이 과부는 그 구차한 중에서 자기의 있는바 생활비 전부를 넣었느니라 하시니라

풀이: "저들은 다 넉넉한 가운데서 얼마를 떼어 넣었지만, 이 과부는 궁핍한 가운데서 가진 것을 다 — 자기가 먹고살 밑천 전부를 넣었기 때문이다."

For all these have of their abundance cast in unto the offerings of God: but she of her penury hath cast in all the living that she had.

어떤 사람들이 성전을 가리켜 그 미석과 헌물로 꾸민 것을 말하매 예수께서 가라사대

풀이: 누군가 성전을 두고, 아름다운 돌과 봉헌물로 얼마나 화려하게 꾸며졌는지 이야기하자 예수가 말했다.

And as some spake of the temple, how it was adorned with goodly stones and gifts, he said,

너희 보는 이것들이 날이 이르면 돌 하나도 돌 위에 남지 않고 다 무너뜨리우리라

풀이: "너희가 지금 보고 있는 이것들, 그 날이 오면 돌 하나도 다른 돌 위에 얹힌 채 남지 못하고 모조리 허물어질 것이다."

As for these things which ye behold, the days will come, in the which there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.

저희가 물어 가로되 선생님이여 그러면 어느 때에 이런 일이 있겠사오며 이런 일이 이루려 할 때에 무슨 징조가 있사오리이까

풀이: 그들이 물었다. "선생님, 그러면 그런 일이 언제 일어납니까? 또 그 일이 일어나려 할 때 무슨 징조가 있겠습니까?"

And they asked him, saying, Master, but when shall these things be? and what sign will there be when these things shall come to pass?

가라사대 미혹을 받지 않도록 주의하라 많은 사람이 내 이름으로 와서 이르되 내가 그로라 하며 때가 가까왔다 하겠으나 저희를 좇지 말라

풀이: 예수가 말했다. "속지 않도록 조심하라. 많은 이가 내 이름을 내세우고 와서 '내가 바로 그다', '때가 가까이 왔다' 하겠지만, 그들을 따라가지 마라."

And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.

난리와 소란의 소문을 들을 때에 두려워 말라 이 일이 먼저 있어야 하되 끝은 곧 되지 아니하니라

풀이: "전쟁과 소요의 소문을 듣더라도 겁먹지 마라. 그런 일은 먼저 일어나야 하지만, 끝이 곧바로 오는 것은 아니다."

But when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but the end is not by and by.

또 이르시되 민족이 민족을, 나라가 나라를 대적하여 일어나겠고

풀이: 이어 그가 말했다. "민족이 민족을, 나라가 나라를 맞서 일어설 것이다."

Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom:

처처에 큰 지진과 기근과 온역이 있겠고 또 무서운 일과 하늘로서 큰 징조들이 있으리라

풀이: "곳곳에 큰 지진이 나고 기근과 전염병이 돌 것이며, 무서운 일들과 하늘에서 오는 거대한 징조들이 나타날 것이다."

And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.

이 모든 일 전에 내 이름을 인하여 너희에게 손을 대어 핍박하며 회당과 옥에 넘겨주며 임금들과 관장들 앞에 끌어 가려니와

풀이: "그러나 이 모든 일에 앞서, 사람들이 내 이름 때문에 너희에게 손을 대어 박해할 것이다. 너희를 회당과 감옥에 넘기고, 왕들과 총독들 앞으로 끌어낼 것이다."

But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name’s sake.

이 일이 도리어 너희에게 증거가 되리라

풀이: "바로 그것이 너희에게는 증언할 기회가 될 것이다."

And it shall turn to you for a testimony.

그러므로 너희는 변명할 것을 미리 연구치 않기로 결심하라

풀이: "그러니 무슨 말로 변호할지 미리 궁리하지 않기로 마음을 정해 두라."

Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer:

내가 너희의 모든 대적이 능히 대항하거나 변박할 수 없는 구재와 지혜를 너희에게 주리라

풀이: "내가 너희에게 말과 지혜를 줄 것인데, 너희를 적대하는 어떤 자도 거기에 맞서거나 반박하지 못할 것이다."

For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.

심지어 부모와 형제와 친척과 벗이 너희를 넘겨주어 너희 중에 몇을 죽이게 하겠고

풀이: "심지어 부모와 형제와 친척과 벗마저 너희를 넘겨줄 것이고, 너희 가운데 더러는 죽임을 당하게 할 것이다."

And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death.

또 너희가 내 이름을 인하여 모든 사람에게 미움을 받을 것이나

풀이: "또 너희는 내 이름 때문에 모든 사람에게 미움을 받을 것이다."

And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake.

너희 머리털 하나도 상치 아니하리라

풀이: "그러나 너희 머리카락 하나도 상하지 않을 것이다."

But there shall not an hair of your head perish.

너희의 인내로 너희 영혼을 얻으리라

풀이: "너희가 끝까지 견디고 버티면, 그렇게 너희 목숨을 얻을 것이다."

In your patience possess ye your souls.

너희가 예루살렘이 군대들에게 에워싸이는 것을 보거든 그 멸망이 가까운 줄을 알라

풀이: "예루살렘이 군대에 둘러싸이는 것을 보거든, 그 도시가 무너질 때가 가까운 줄 알아라."

And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.

그 때에 유대에 있는 자들은 산으로 도망할찌며 성내에 있는 자들은 나갈찌며 촌에 있는 자들은 그리로 들어가지 말찌어다

풀이: "그때 유대에 있는 사람들은 산으로 달아나고, 성안에 있는 사람들은 빠져나가며, 들에 있는 사람들은 성안으로 들어가지 마라."

Then let them which are in Judea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto.

이 날들은 기록된 모든 것을 이루는 형벌의 날이니라

풀이: "이 날들은 기록된 모든 말이 이루어지는 징벌의 때이기 때문이다."

For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.

그 날에는 아이 밴 자들과 젖먹이는 자들에게 화가 있으리니 이는 땅에 큰 환난과 이 백성에게 진노가 있겠음이로다

풀이: "그 날에는 아이 밴 여인과 젖먹이는 여인에게 화가 미칠 것이다. 이 땅에 큰 환난이 닥치고, 이 백성에게 진노가 쏟아질 것이기 때문이다."

But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people.

저희가 칼날에 죽임을 당하며 모든 이방에 사로잡혀 가겠고 예루살렘은 이방인의 때가 차기까지 이방인들에게 밟히리라

풀이: "사람들이 칼날에 쓰러지고, 모든 이방 나라로 사로잡혀 끌려갈 것이며, 예루살렘은 이방인의 때가 다 찰 때까지 그들에게 짓밟힐 것이다."

And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.

일월 성신에는 징조가 있겠고 땅에서는 민족들이 바다와 파도의 우는 소리를 인하여 혼란한 중에 곤고하리라

풀이: "해와 달과 별에는 징조가 나타나고, 땅에서는 민족들이 바다와 파도가 울부짖는 소리에 어쩔 줄 몰라 괴로워할 것이다."

And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;

사람들이 세상에 임할 일을 생각하고 무서워하므로 기절하리니 이는 하늘의 권능들이 흔들리겠음이라

풀이: "사람들은 세상에 닥쳐올 일을 내다보며 두려움에 숨이 막혀 까무러칠 것이다. 하늘의 권능들이 뒤흔들릴 것이기 때문이다."

Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

그 때에 사람들이 인자가 구름을 타고 능력과 큰 영광으로 오는 것을 보리라

풀이: "그때 사람들은 인자가 구름을 타고 권능과 큰 영광에 둘러싸여 오는 것을 볼 것이다."

And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

이런 일이 되기를 시작하거든 일어나 머리를 들라 너희 구속이 가까왔느니라 하시더라

풀이: "이런 일이 일어나기 시작하거든, 몸을 일으켜 고개를 들라. 너희가 풀려날 때가 가까이 왔기 때문이다."

And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

이에 비유로 이르시되 무화과나무와 모든 나무를 보라

풀이: 그리고 그는 비유 하나를 들려주었다. "무화과나무를, 또 모든 나무를 보라."

And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees;

싹이 나면 너희가 보고 여름이 가까운 줄을 자연히 아나니

풀이: "가지에 싹이 돋는 것을 보면, 너희는 여름이 가까운 줄 저절로 안다."

When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand.

이와 같이 너희가 이런 일이 나는 것을 보거든 하나님의 나라가 가까운 줄을 알라

풀이: "이와 같이 이런 일들이 일어나는 것을 보거든, 신의 나라가 가까이 온 줄 알아라."

So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand.

내가 진실로 너희에게 말하노니 이 세대가 지나가기 전에 모든 일이 다 이루리라

풀이: "내가 진실로 너희에게 말한다. 이 세대가 다 지나가기 전에 이 모든 일이 일어날 것이다."

Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled.

천지는 없어지겠으나 내 말은 없어지지 아니하리라

풀이: "하늘과 땅은 사라져도 내 말은 사라지지 않을 것이다."

Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.

너희는 스스로 조심하라 그렇지 않으면 방탕함과 술취함과 생활의 염려로 마음이 둔하여지고 뜻밖에 그 날이 덫과 같이 너희에게 임하리라

풀이: "너희는 스스로 조심하라. 흥청대는 향락과 술취함과 세상살이 걱정으로 마음이 둔해지면, 그 날이 덫처럼 느닷없이 너희를 덮칠 것이다."

And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.

이 날은 온 지구상에 거하는 모든 사람에게 임하리라

풀이: "그 날은 온 땅에 사는 모든 사람에게 그렇게 들이닥칠 것이다."

For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.

이러므로 너희는 장차 올 이 모든 일을 능히 피하고 인자 앞에 서도록 항상 기도하며 깨어 있으라 하시니라

풀이: "그러니 너희는 늘 깨어 기도하라. 그래야 닥쳐올 이 모든 일에서 벗어나, 인자 앞에 떳떳이 설 수 있을 것이다."

Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

예수께서 낮이면 성전에서 가르치시고 밤이면 나가 감람원이라 하는 산에서 쉬시니

풀이: 예수는 낮에는 성전에서 가르치고, 밤이면 나가 감람산이라 불리는 산에서 묵었다.

And in the day time he was teaching in the temple; and at night he went out, and abode in the mount that is called the mount of Olives.

모든 백성이 그 말씀을 들으려고 이른 아침에 성전에 나아가더라

풀이: 그리고 모든 백성이 그의 말을 들으려고 이른 새벽부터 성전으로 그를 찾아 모여들었다.

And all the people came early in the morning to him in the temple, for to hear him.
