레위기 17장

여호와께서 모세에게 일러 가라사대

풀이: 신이 모세에게 일렀다.

And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

아론과 그 아들들과 이스라엘 모든 자손에게 고하여 그들에게 이르기를 여호와의 명령이 이러하시다 하라

풀이: 아론과 그 아들들, 그리고 이스라엘 온 백성에게 전하여라. 신이 명한 것은 이러하다.

Speak unto Aaron, and unto his sons, and unto all the children of Israel, and say unto them; This is the thing which the Lord hath commanded, saying,

무릇 이스라엘 집의 누구든지 소나 어린 양이나 염소를 진 안에서 잡든지 진 밖에서 잡든지

풀이: 이스라엘 집안의 누구든, 소나 양이나 염소를 잡되 진영 안에서 잡든 진영 밖에서 잡든,

What man soever there be of the house of Israel, that killeth an ox, or lamb, or goat, in the camp, or that killeth it out of the camp,

먼저 회막문으로 끌어다가 여호와의 장막 앞에서 여호와께 예물로 드리지 아니하는 자는 피흘린 자로 여길 것이라 그가 피를 흘렸은즉 자기 백성 중에서 끊쳐지리라

풀이: 그것을 회막 문으로 끌고 와 신의 장막 앞에서 신에게 예물로 바치지 않으면, 그는 피를 흘린 자로 여겨진다. 그가 피를 쏟았으니, 그 사람은 제 백성 가운데서 끊어진다.

And bringeth it not unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, to offer an offering unto the Lord before the tabernacle of the Lord; blood shall be imputed unto that man; he hath shed blood; and that man shall be cut off from among his people:

그런즉 이스라엘 자손이 들에서 잡던 희생을 회막문 여호와께로 끌어다가 제사장에게 주어 화목제로 여호와께 드려야 할 것이요

풀이: 이는 이스라엘 백성이 들판에서 잡던 제물을 신에게로, 회막 문 제사장에게로 끌고 와, 화목제로 신에게 바치게 하려는 것이다.

To the end that the children of Israel may bring their sacrifices, which they offer in the open field, even that they may bring them unto the Lord, unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, unto the priest, and offer them for peace offerings unto the Lord.

제사장은 그 피를 회막문 여호와의 단에 뿌리고 그 기름을 불살라 여호와께 향기로운 냄새가 되게 할 것이라

풀이: 제사장은 그 피를 회막 문 신의 제단에 뿌리고, 그 기름을 불살라 신에게 향기로운 냄새가 되게 한다.

And the priest shall sprinkle the blood upon the altar of the Lord at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and burn the fat for a sweet savour unto the Lord.

그들은 전에 음란히 섬기던 수염소에게 다시 제사하지 말 것이니라 이는 그들이 대대로 지킬 영원한 규례니라

풀이: 그들은 다시는 들판의 염소 귀신들에게 제물을 바치지 말아야 한다. 그것은 그들이 음란하게 좇아다니던 것이다. 이는 그들이 대대로 지킬 영원한 규례다.

And they shall no more offer their sacrifices unto devils, after whom they have gone a whoring. This shall be a statute for ever unto them throughout their generations.

너는 또 그들에게 이르라 무릇 이스라엘 집 사람이나 혹시 그들 중에 우거하는 타국인이 번제나 희생을 드리되

풀이: 또 그들에게 일러라. 이스라엘 집안 사람이든, 그들 가운데 머무는 이방인이든, 누구든 번제나 다른 제물을 바치면서

And thou shalt say unto them, Whatsoever man there be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers which sojourn among you, that offereth a burnt offering or sacrifice,

회막문으로 가져다가 여호와께 드리지 아니하면 그는 백성 중에서 끊쳐지리라

풀이: 그것을 회막 문으로 가져와 신에게 바치지 않으면, 그 사람은 제 백성 가운데서 끊어진다.

And bringeth it not unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, to offer it unto the Lord; even that man shall be cut off from among his people.

무릇 이스라엘 집 사람이나 그들 중에 우거하는 타국인 중에 어떤 피든지 먹는 자가 있으면 내가 그 피 먹는 사람에게 진노하여 그를 백성 중에서 끊으리니

풀이: 이스라엘 집안 사람이든 그들 가운데 머무는 이방인이든, 누구라도 피를 먹으면, 나는 그 피 먹는 자에게 얼굴을 돌려, 그를 제 백성 가운데서 끊어 버리겠다.

And whatsoever man there be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn among you, that eateth any manner of blood; I will even set my face against that soul that eateth blood, and will cut him off from among his people.

육체의 생명은 피에 있음이라 내가 이 피를 너희에게 주어 단에 뿌려 너희의 생명을 위하여 속하게 하였나니 생명이 피에 있으므로 피가 죄를 속하느니라

풀이: 살의 생명이 피에 있기 때문이다. 나는 그 피를 너희에게 주어, 제단 위에서 너희 생명을 위해 대신 덮게 했다. 생명이 깃든 그 피가 생명을 덮어 주는 것이다.

For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.

그러므로 내가 이스라엘 자손에게 말하기를 너희 중에 아무도 피를 먹지 말며 너희 중에 우거하는 타국인이라도 피를 먹지 말라 하였나니

풀이: 그래서 내가 이스라엘 백성에게 일렀다. 너희 가운데 누구도 피를 먹지 말고, 너희 가운데 머무는 이방인도 피를 먹지 말라.

Therefore I said unto the children of Israel, No soul of you shall eat blood, neither shall any stranger that sojourneth among you eat blood.

무릇 이스라엘 자손이나 그들 중에 우거하는 타국인이 먹을만한 짐승이나 새를 사냥하여 잡거든 그 피를 흘리고 흙으로 덮을찌니라

풀이: 이스라엘 백성이든 그들 가운데 머무는 이방인이든, 누구든 먹어도 되는 짐승이나 새를 사냥해 잡거든, 그 피를 쏟아 내고 흙으로 덮어라.

And whatsoever man there be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn among you, which hunteth and catcheth any beast or fowl that may be eaten; he shall even pour out the blood thereof, and cover it with dust.

모든 생물은 그 피가 생명과 일체라 그러므로 내가 이스라엘 자손에게 이르기를 너희는 어느 육체의 피든지 먹지 말라 하였나니 모든 육체의 생명은 그 피인즉 무릇 피를 먹는 자는 끊쳐지리라

풀이: 모든 살아 있는 것의 생명은 곧 그 피이기 때문이다. 그래서 내가 이스라엘 백성에게 일렀다. 어떤 살의 피든 먹지 말라. 모든 살의 생명이 그 피에 있으니, 피를 먹는 자는 끊어진다.

For it is the life of all flesh; the blood of it is for the life thereof: therefore I said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall eat the blood of no manner of flesh: for the life of all flesh is the blood thereof: whosoever eateth it shall be cut off.

무릇 스스로 죽은 것이나 들짐승에게 찢겨 죽은 것을 먹은 자는 본토인이나 타국인이나 물론하고 그 옷을 빨고 물로 몸을 씻을 것이며 저녁까지 부정하고 그 후에 정하려니와

풀이: 저절로 죽은 것이나 들짐승에게 찢겨 죽은 것을 먹은 사람은, 본토인이든 이방인이든, 옷을 빨고 물로 몸을 씻어야 한다. 그는 저녁까지 부정하다가, 그 뒤에야 깨끗해진다.

And every soul that eateth that which died of itself, or that which was torn with beasts, whether it be one of your own country, or a stranger, he shall both wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even: then shall he be clean.

그가 빨지 아니하거나 몸을 물로 씻지 아니하면 죄를 당하리라

풀이: 그가 옷을 빨지 않고 몸을 씻지 않으면, 그는 제 허물을 짊어진다.

But if he wash them not, nor bathe his flesh; then he shall bear his iniquity.
