레위기 25장

여호와께서 시내산에서 모세에게 일러 가라사대

풀이: 신이 시내산에서 모세에게 일렀다.

And the Lord spake unto Moses in mount Sinai, saying,

이스라엘 자손에게 고하여 이르라 너희는 내가 너희에게 주는 땅에 들어간 후에 그 땅으로 여호와 앞에 안식하게 하라

풀이: 이스라엘 백성에게 전하여라. 내가 너희에게 주는 그 땅에 들어가거든, 그 땅도 신을 위한 안식을 누리게 하여라.

Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye come into the land which I give you, then shall the land keep a sabbath unto the Lord.

너는 육년 동안 그 밭에 파종하며 육년 동안 그 포도원을 다스려 그 열매를 거둘 것이나

풀이: 여섯 해 동안은 밭에 씨를 뿌리고, 여섯 해 동안은 포도밭을 가꾸어 그 소출을 거두어라.

Six years thou shalt sow thy field, and six years thou shalt prune thy vineyard, and gather in the fruit thereof;

제 칠년에는 땅으로 쉬어 안식하게 할찌니 여호와께 대한 안식이라 너는 그 밭에 파종하거나 포도원을 다스리지 말며

풀이: 그러나 일곱째 해에는 땅에게 완전한 안식, 곧 신을 위한 안식을 주어라. 밭에 씨를 뿌리지도, 포도밭을 손질하지도 마라.

But in the seventh year shall be a sabbath of rest unto the land, a sabbath for the Lord: thou shalt neither sow thy field, nor prune thy vineyard.

너의 곡물의 스스로 난 것을 거두지 말고 다스리지 아니한 포도나무의 맺은 열매를 거두지 말라 이는 땅의 안식년임이니라

풀이: 저절로 자란 곡식을 베어 거두지 말고, 손대지 않은 포도나무에 맺힌 열매도 따 모으지 마라. 그해는 땅이 쉬는 해다.

That which groweth of its own accord of thy harvest thou shalt not reap, neither gather the grapes of thy vine undressed: for it is a year of rest unto the land.

안식년의 소출은 너희의 먹을 것이니 너와 네 남종과 네 여종과 네 품군과 너와 함께 거하는 객과

풀이: 땅이 쉬는 그해에 저절로 난 소출은 너희 모두의 먹을거리가 된다 — 너와 네 남종과 여종, 네 품꾼과 너와 더불어 사는 나그네,

And the sabbath of the land shall be meat for you; for thee, and for thy servant, and for thy maid, and for thy hired servant, and for thy stranger that sojourneth with thee,

네 육축과 네 땅에 있는 들짐승들이 다 그 소산으로 식물을 삼을찌니라

풀이: 그리고 네 가축과 네 땅의 들짐승까지, 그 모든 소출을 함께 먹는다.

And for thy cattle, and for the beast that are in thy land, shall all the increase thereof be meat.

너는 일곱 안식년을 계수할찌니 이는 칠년이 일곱번인즉 안식년 일곱번 동안 곧 사십 구년이라

풀이: 안식년을 일곱 번 세어라. 7년이 일곱 번이니, 안식년이 일곱 차례 지나면 49년이 된다.

And thou shalt number seven sabbaths of years unto thee, seven times seven years; and the space of the seven sabbaths of years shall be unto thee forty and nine years.

칠월 십일은 속죄일이니 너는 나팔 소리를 내되 전국에서 나팔을 크게 불찌며

풀이: 그리고 일곱째 달 10일, 곧 속죄일에 뿔나팔 소리를 울려라. 그날 온 땅 구석구석에 나팔을 크게 불어라.

Then shalt thou cause the trumpet of the jubile to sound on the tenth day of the seventh month, in the day of atonement shall ye make the trumpet sound throughout all your land.

제 오십년을 거룩하게 하여 전국 거민에게 자유를 공포하라 이 해는 너희에게 희년이니 너희는 각각 그 기업으로 돌아가며 각각 그 가족에게로 돌아갈찌며

풀이: 50년째 되는 해를 거룩하게 구별하고, 그 땅에 사는 모든 이에게 자유를 선포하여라. 이 해가 너희의 희년이다. 저마다 제 물려받은 땅으로 돌아가고, 저마다 제 가족에게로 돌아간다.

And ye shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubile unto you; and ye shall return every man unto his possession, and ye shall return every man unto his family.

그 오십년은 너희의 희년이니 너희는 파종하지 말며 스스로 난 것을 거두지 말며 다스리지 아니한 포도를 거두지 말라

풀이: 그 50년째 해가 너희의 희년이다. 씨를 뿌리지 말고, 저절로 자란 것을 거두지 말고, 손대지 않은 포도도 따지 마라.

A jubile shall that fiftieth year be unto you: ye shall not sow, neither reap that which groweth of itself in it, nor gather the grapes in it of thy vine undressed.

이는 희년이니 너희에게 거룩함이니라 너희가 밭의 소산을 먹으리라

풀이: 이는 희년이니, 너희에게 거룩한 해다. 밭에서 저절로 난 소출을 그냥 거두어 먹어라.

For it is the jubile; it shall be holy unto you: ye shall eat the increase thereof out of the field.

이 희년에는 너희가 각기 기업으로 돌아갈찌라

풀이: 이 희년에는 저마다 제 물려받은 땅으로 돌아간다.

In the year of this jubile ye shall return every man unto his possession.

네 이웃에게 팔든지 네 이웃의 손에서 사거든 너희는 서로 속이지 말라

풀이: 네 이웃에게 무언가를 팔거나 이웃의 손에서 사거든, 서로 등쳐먹지 마라.

And if thou sell ought unto thy neighbour, or buyest ought of thy neighbour’s hand, ye shall not oppress one another:

희년 후의 년수를 따라서 너는 이웃에게 살 것이요 그도 그 열매를 얻을 년수를 따라서 네게 팔것인즉

풀이: 희년이 지난 뒤 남은 햇수를 따져 이웃에게서 사고, 그도 앞으로 거둘 수확의 햇수를 따져 네게 판다.

According to the number of years after the jubile thou shalt buy of thy neighbour, and according unto the number of years of the fruits he shall sell unto thee:

년수가 많으면 너는 그 값을 많게 하고 년수가 적으면 너는 그 값을 적게 할찌니 곧 그가 그 열매의 다소를 따라서 네게 팔것이라

풀이: 남은 햇수가 많으면 값을 올리고, 햇수가 적으면 값을 내려라. 그가 네게 파는 것은 사실 땅이 아니라 그 땅이 낼 수확의 횟수이기 때문이다.

According to the multitude of years thou shalt increase the price thereof, and according to the fewness of years thou shalt diminish the price of it: for according to the number of the years of the fruits doth he sell unto thee.

너희는 서로 속이지 말고 너희의 하나님을 경외하라 나는 너희 하나님 여호와니라

풀이: 그러니 서로 등쳐먹지 말고, 너희의 신을 경외하여라. 나는 너희의 신, 여호와다.

Ye shall not therefore oppress one another; but thou shalt fear thy God: for I am the Lord your God.

너희는 내 법도를 행하며 내 규례를 지켜 행하라 그리하면 너희가 그 땅에 안전히 거할 것이라

풀이: 내 법도를 행하고 내 규례를 지켜 그대로 살아라. 그러면 너희가 그 땅에서 안심하고 살 것이다.

Wherefore ye shall do my statutes, and keep my judgments, and do them; and ye shall dwell in the land in safety.

땅은 그 산물을 내리니 너희가 배불리 먹고 거기 안전히 거하리라

풀이: 땅은 제 열매를 낼 것이고, 너희는 배불리 먹으며 거기서 안심하고 살 것이다.

And the land shall yield her fruit, and ye shall eat your fill, and dwell therein in safety.

혹 너희 말이 우리가 만일 제 칠년에 심지도 못하고 그 산물을 거두지도 못하면 무엇을 먹으리요 하겠으나

풀이: 너희는 이렇게 물을지 모른다. "일곱째 해에 심지도 못하고 거두지도 못하면, 우리는 무엇을 먹나?"

And if ye shall say, What shall we eat the seventh year? behold, we shall not sow, nor gather in our increase:

내가 명하여 제 육년에 내 복을 너희에게 내려 그 소출이 삼년 쓰기에 족하게 할찌라

풀이: 그러면 내가 여섯째 해에 너희에게 복을 내려, 그 한 해 소출이 3년치를 너끈히 대게 하겠다.

Then I will command my blessing upon you in the sixth year, and it shall bring forth fruit for three years.

너희가 제 팔년에는 파종하려니와 묵은 곡식을 먹을 것이며 제 구년 곧 추수하기까지 묵은 곡식을 먹으리라

풀이: 그래서 너희는 여덟째 해에 씨를 뿌리면서도 묵은 곡식을 먹고, 아홉째 해에 새 수확이 들어올 때까지 그 묵은 곡식으로 버틸 것이다.

And ye shall sow the eighth year, and eat yet of old fruit until the ninth year; until her fruits come in ye shall eat of the old store.

토지를 영영히 팔지 말것은 토지는 다 내 것임이라 너희는 나그네요 우거하는 자로서 나와 함께 있느니라

풀이: 땅을 아주 영영 팔아넘기지는 마라. 땅은 다 내 것이고, 너희는 나와 더불어 잠시 머무는 나그네요 떠돌이일 뿐이다.

The land shall not be sold for ever: for the land is mine; for ye are strangers and sojourners with me.

너희 기업의 온 땅에서 그 토지 무르기를 허락할찌니

풀이: 그러므로 너희가 차지한 온 땅에서, 팔린 땅을 도로 무를 길을 늘 열어 두어라.

And in all the land of your possession ye shall grant a redemption for the land.

만일 너희 형제가 가난하여 그 기업 얼마를 팔았으면 그 근족이 와서 동족의 판 것을 무를 것이요

풀이: 네 형제가 가난해져 제 물려받은 땅의 일부를 팔았거든, 가장 가까운 친족이 와서 그 형제가 판 것을 도로 사 주어라.

If thy brother be waxen poor, and hath sold away some of his possession, and if any of his kin come to redeem it, then shall he redeem that which his brother sold.

만일 그것을 무를 사람이 없고 자기가 부요하게 되어 무를 힘이 있거든

풀이: 그를 대신 무러 줄 친족이 없는데 본인이 형편이 펴여 스스로 무를 힘이 생기거든,

And if the man have none to redeem it, and himself be able to redeem it;

그 판 해를 계수하여 그 남은 값을 산 자에게 주고 그 기업으로 돌아갈 것이니라

풀이: 판 뒤로 지난 햇수를 따져 그만큼 값을 깎아 산 사람에게 남은 값을 돌려주고, 제 땅으로 돌아가면 된다.

Then let him count the years of the sale thereof, and restore the overplus unto the man to whom he sold it; that he may return unto his possession.

그러나 자기가 무를 힘이 없으면 그 판것이 희년이 이르기까지 산 자의 손에 있다가 희년에 미쳐 돌아올찌니 그가 곧 그 기업으로 돌아갈 것이니라

풀이: 그러나 스스로 되살 힘이 없으면, 판 땅은 희년이 올 때까지 산 사람의 손에 남아 있다가 희년이 되면 풀려난다. 그때 그는 제 땅으로 돌아간다.

But if he be not able to restore it to him, then that which is sold shall remain in the hand of him that hath bought it until the year of jubile: and in the jubile it shall go out, and he shall return unto his possession.

성벽 있는 성내의 가옥을 팔았으면 판지 만 일년 안에는 무를 수 있나니 곧 그 기한 안에 무르려니와

풀이: 성벽으로 둘러싸인 성안의 집을 팔았으면, 판 지 만 1년 안에는 도로 무를 수 있다. 그 기한 안에만 무를 권리가 있다.

And if a man sell a dwelling house in a walled city, then he may redeem it within a whole year after it is sold; within a full year may he redeem it.

주년 내에 무르지 못하면 그 성내 가옥은 산 자의 소유로 확정되어 대대로 영영히 그에게 속하고 희년에라도 돌려 보내지 아니할 것이니라

풀이: 꼬박 1년이 차도록 무르지 못하면, 그 성안의 집은 산 사람의 소유로 굳어져 대대로 영영 그의 것이 되고, 희년에도 돌려주지 않는다.

And if it be not redeemed within the space of a full year, then the house that is in the walled city shall be established for ever to him that bought it throughout his generations: it shall not go out in the jubile.

그러나 성벽이 둘리지 아니한 촌락의 가옥은 나라의 전토 일례로 물러주기도 할 것이요 희년에 돌려 보내기도 할것이니라

풀이: 그러나 성벽이 없는 마을의 집은 들판의 땅과 똑같이 친다. 도로 무를 수 있고, 희년이 되면 돌려준다.

But the houses of the villages which have no wall round about them shall be counted as the fields of the country: they may be redeemed, and they shall go out in the jubile.

레위 족속의 성읍 곧 그 기업의 성읍의 가옥은 레위 사람이 언제든지 무를 수 있으나

풀이: 레위 사람의 성읍, 곧 그들이 차지한 성읍의 집들은, 레위 사람이 언제든 무를 수 있다.

Notwithstanding the cities of the Levites, and the houses of the cities of their possession, may the Levites redeem at any time.

레위 사람이 만일 무르지 아니하면 그 기업된 성읍의 판 가옥은 희년에 돌려 보낼찌니 대저 레위 사람의 성읍의 가옥은 이스라엘 자손 중에서 얻은 기업이 됨이니라

풀이: 레위 사람이 무르지 않더라도, 그들이 차지한 성읍에서 팔린 집은 희년에 돌려준다. 레위 사람의 성읍에 있는 집이야말로 이스라엘 백성 가운데서 그들이 받은 유일한 몫이기 때문이다.

And if a man purchase of the Levites, then the house that was sold, and the city of his possession, shall go out in the year of jubile: for the houses of the cities of the Levites are their possession among the children of Israel.

그러나 그 성읍의 들의 사면 밭은 그의 영원한 기업이니 팔지 못할찌니라

풀이: 다만 그 성읍에 딸린 둘레의 목초지 밭은 그들의 영원한 몫이니, 결코 팔아서는 안 된다.

But the field of the suburbs of their cities may not be sold; for it is their perpetual possession.

네 동족이 빈한하게 되어 빈손으로 네 곁에 있거든 너는 그를 도와 객이나 우거하는 자처럼 너와 함께 생활하게 하되

풀이: 네 형제가 가난해져 빈손으로 네 곁에 쓰러지거든, 그를 붙들어 주어라. 나그네나 떠돌이를 대하듯, 그가 너와 함께 살아갈 수 있게 하여라.

And if thy brother be waxen poor, and fallen in decay with thee; then thou shalt relieve him: yea, though he be a stranger, or a sojourner; that he may live with thee.

너는 그에게 이식을 취하지 말고 네 하나님을 경외하여 네 형제로 너와 함께 생활하게 할것인즉

풀이: 그에게서 이자나 웃돈을 받지 말고, 네 신을 경외하여라. 그래서 네 형제가 너와 함께 살아가게 하여라.

Take thou no usury of him, or increase: but fear thy God; that thy brother may live with thee.

너는 그에게 이식을 위하여 돈을 꾸이지 말고 이익을 위하여 식물을 꾸이지 말라

풀이: 그에게 이자를 받으려고 돈을 꾸어 주지 말고, 웃돈을 붙이려고 양식을 꾸어 주지도 마라.

Thou shalt not give him thy money upon usury, nor lend him thy victuals for increase.

나는 너희 하나님이 되려고 또는 가나안 땅으로 너희에게 주려고 애굽 땅에서 너희를 인도하여 낸 너희 하나님 여호와니라

풀이: 나는 너희의 신, 여호와다. 너희에게 가나안 땅을 주고 너희의 신이 되려고, 너희를 이집트 땅에서 이끌어 낸 그 신이다.

I am the Lord your God, which brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, to give you the land of Canaan, and to be your God.

네 동족이 빈한하게 되어 네게 몸이 팔리거든 너는 그를 종으로 부리지 말고

풀이: 네 곁에 사는 네 형제가 가난해져 네게 몸을 팔거든, 그를 종처럼 부리지 마라.

And if thy brother that dwelleth by thee be waxen poor, and be sold unto thee; thou shalt not compel him to serve as a bondservant:

품군이나 우거하는 자 같이 너와 함께 있게 하여 희년까지 너를 섬기게 하라

풀이: 그를 품꾼이나 더부살이하는 사람처럼 너와 함께 두고, 희년까지만 너를 위해 일하게 하여라.

But as an hired servant, and as a sojourner, he shall be with thee, and shall serve thee unto the year of jubile:

그 때에는 그와 그 자녀가 함께 네게서 떠나 그 본족에게로 돌아가서 조상의 기업을 회복하리라

풀이: 그때가 되면 그와 그 자녀가 함께 너를 떠나, 제 본래의 가족에게로, 조상에게서 물려받은 땅으로 돌아간다.

And then shall he depart from thee, both he and his children with him, and shall return unto his own family, and unto the possession of his fathers shall he return.

그들은 내가 애굽 땅에서 인도하여 낸바 나의 품군인즉 종으로 팔리지 말 것이라

풀이: 그들은 내가 이집트 땅에서 이끌어 낸 나의 종이다. 그러니 노예로 팔려서는 안 된다.

For they are my servants, which I brought forth out of the land of Egypt: they shall not be sold as bondmen.

너는 그를 엄하게 부리지 말고 너의 하나님을 경외하라

풀이: 그를 모질게 부리지 말고, 네 신을 경외하여라.

Thou shalt not rule over him with rigour; but shalt fear thy God.

너의 종은 남녀를 무론하고 너의 사면 이방인 중에서 취할찌니 남녀 종은 이런 자 중에서 살 것이며

풀이: 네가 둘 종은, 남자든 여자든, 너희 둘레의 이방 민족들에게서 들여라. 거기서 남종과 여종을 사면 된다.

Both thy bondmen, and thy bondmaids, which thou shalt have, shall be of the heathen that are round about you; of them shall ye buy bondmen and bondmaids.

또 너희 중에 우거한 이방인의 자녀 중에서도 너희가 살 수 있고 또 그들이 너희 중에서 살아서 너희 땅에서 가정을 이룬 그 중에서도 그리 할 수 있은즉 그들이 너희 소유가 될찌니

풀이: 또 너희 가운데 더부살이하는 이방인의 자녀, 그리고 너희 땅에서 태어나 너희와 함께 사는 그 식솔 가운데서도 살 수 있다. 그들은 너희의 소유가 된다.

Moreover of the children of the strangers that do sojourn among you, of them shall ye buy, and of their families that are with you, which they begat in your land: and they shall be your possession.

너희는 그들을 너희 후손에게 기업으로 주어 소유가 되게 할것이라 이방인 중에서는 너희가 영원한 종을 삼으려니와 너희 동족 이스라엘 자손은 너희 피차 엄하게 부리지 말찌니라

풀이: 너희는 그들을 너희 자손에게 재산으로 물려주어 대를 이어 부릴 수 있다. 그들에게는 영원한 종을 삼아도 된다. 그러나 너희 형제인 이스라엘 백성끼리는 서로 모질게 부려서는 안 된다.

And ye shall take them as an inheritance for your children after you, to inherit them for a possession; they shall be your bondmen for ever: but over your brethren the children of Israel, ye shall not rule one over another with rigour.

너희 중에 우거하는 이방인은 부요하게 되고 그 곁에 사는 너희 동족은 빈한하게 됨으로 너희 중에 우거하는 그 이방인에게나 그 족속에게 몸이 팔렸으면

풀이: 너희 가운데 더부살이하는 이방인은 형편이 펴는데 그 곁에 사는 네 형제는 가난해져, 그 이방인에게나 그 집안 사람에게 제 몸을 팔았거든,

And if a sojourner or stranger wax rich by thee, and thy brother that dwelleth by him wax poor, and sell himself unto the stranger or sojourner by thee, or to the stock of the stranger’s family:

팔린 후에 그를 속량할 수 있나니 그 형제 중 하나가 속하거나

풀이: 팔린 뒤에도 그를 도로 무를 길이 있다. 그 형제 가운데 하나가 무를 수 있고,

After that he is sold he may be redeemed again; one of his brethren may redeem him:

삼촌이나 사촌이 속하거나 그 근족 중 누구든지 속할 것이요 그가 부요하게 되면 스스로 속하되

풀이: 삼촌이나 사촌이 무를 수도 있으며, 집안의 가까운 친족이면 누구든 무를 수 있다. 본인이 형편이 펴면 스스로 무를 수도 있다.

Either his uncle, or his uncle’s son, may redeem him, or any that is nigh of kin unto him of his family may redeem him; or if he be able, he may redeem himself.

자기 몸이 팔린 해로부터 희년까지를 그 산 자와 계산하여 그 년수를 따라서 그 몸의 값을 정할 때에 그 사람을 섬긴 날을 그 사람에게 고용된 날로 여길 것이라

풀이: 몸이 팔린 해부터 희년까지를 산 주인과 함께 따져, 그 햇수만큼 몸값을 정한다. 그가 일한 기간은 품삯을 받고 고용된 날수로 친다.

And he shall reckon with him that bought him from the year that he was sold to him unto the year of jubile: and the price of his sale shall be according unto the number of years, according to the time of an hired servant shall it be with him.

만일 남은 해가 많으면 그 년수대로 팔린 값에서 속하는 값을 그 사람에게 도로 주고

풀이: 희년까지 남은 해가 많으면, 그 햇수에 맞추어 처음 팔린 값에서 무르는 값을 돌려주고,

If there be yet many years behind, according unto them he shall give again the price of his redemption out of the money that he was bought for.

만일 희년까지 남은 해가 적으면 그 사람과 계산하여 그 년수대로 속하는 그 값을 그에게 도로 줄찌며

풀이: 희년까지 남은 해가 적으면, 주인과 함께 따져 그 햇수에 맞추어 무르는 값을 돌려준다.

And if there remain but few years unto the year of jubile, then he shall count with him, and according unto his years shall he give him again the price of his redemption.

주인은 그를 매년의 삯군과 같이 여기고 너의 목전에서 엄하게 부리지 못하리라

풀이: 주인은 그를 해마다 고용한 품꾼처럼 대해야 하며, 네가 보는 앞에서 그를 모질게 부려서는 안 된다.

And as a yearly hired servant shall he be with him: and the other shall not rule with rigour over him in thy sight.

그가 이같이 속하지 못하면 희년에 이르러 그와 그 자녀가 자유하리니

풀이: 그가 이렇게 무르지 못하더라도, 희년이 되면 그와 그 자녀가 함께 풀려난다.

And if he be not redeemed in these years, then he shall go out in the year of jubile, both he, and his children with him.

이스라엘 자손은 나의 품군이 됨이라 그들은 내가 애굽 땅에서 인도하여 낸 나의 품군이요 나는 너희 하나님 여호와니라

풀이: 이스라엘 백성은 나의 종이기 때문이다. 그들은 내가 이집트 땅에서 이끌어 낸 나의 종이다. 나는 너희의 신, 여호와다.

For unto me the children of Israel are servants; they are my servants whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.
