레위기 21장

여호와께서 모세에게 이르시되 아론의 자손 제사장들에게 고하여 이르라 백성 중의 죽은 자로 인하여 스스로 더럽히지 말려니와

풀이: 신이 모세에게 일렀다. "아론의 자손인 제사장들에게 전하여라. 제사장은 제 백성 가운데 누가 죽었다 해서 그 주검 곁에 가 스스로를 더럽혀서는 안 된다.

And the Lord said unto Moses, Speak unto the priests the sons of Aaron, and say unto them, There shall none be defiled for the dead among his people:

골육지친인 부모나 자녀나 형제나

풀이: 다만 피를 나눈 가까운 살붙이라면 — 제 어머니나 아버지, 아들이나 딸, 형제,

But for his kin, that is near unto him, that is, for his mother, and for his father, and for his son, and for his daughter, and for his brother,

출가하지 아니한 처녀인 친 자매로 인하여는 몸을 더럽힐 수 있느니라

풀이: 그리고 아직 시집가지 않아 한집에 있는 처녀 누이라면, 그를 위해서는 주검 곁에 가 몸을 더럽혀도 된다.

And for his sister a virgin, that is nigh unto him, which hath had no husband; for her may he be defiled.

제사장은 백성의 어른인즉 스스로 더럽혀 욕되게 하지 말지니라

풀이: 그러나 백성의 우두머리 된 자로서, 혼인으로 맺어진 인척의 죽음에까지 스스로를 더럽혀 제 몸을 속되게 해서는 안 된다.

But he shall not defile himself, being a chief man among his people, to profane himself.

제사장들은 머리털을 깎아 대머리 같게 하지 말며 그 수염 양편을 깎지 말며 살을 베지 말고

풀이: 제사장들은 죽은 이를 애도한다며 머리를 밀어 대머리를 만들지 말고, 수염 양옆을 깎지 말며, 제 살을 칼로 긋지 마라.

They shall not make baldness upon their head, neither shall they shave off the corner of their beard, nor make any cuttings in their flesh.

그 하나님께 대하여 거룩하고 그 하나님의 이름을 욕되게 하지 말것이며 그들은 여호와의 화제 곧 그 하나님의 식물을 드리는 자인즉 거룩할 것이라

풀이: 그들은 자기 신에게 거룩해야 하고, 그 신의 이름을 속되게 해서는 안 된다. 그들은 신에게 불살라 바치는 제물, 곧 자기 신의 양식을 올려 드리는 자들이니, 거룩해야 한다.

They shall be holy unto their God, and not profane the name of their God: for the offerings of the Lord made by fire, and the bread of their God, they do offer: therefore they shall be holy.

그들은 기생이나 부정한 여인을 취하지 말것이며 이혼 당한 여인을 취하지 말지니 이는 그가 여호와께 거룩함이니라

풀이: 그들은 몸 파는 여인이나 몸을 더럽힌 여인을 아내로 맞지 말고, 남편에게서 버림받은 여인도 맞지 마라. 제사장은 제 신에게 거룩한 몸이기 때문이다.

They shall not take a wife that is a whore, or profane; neither shall they take a woman put away from her husband: for he is holy unto his God.

너는 그를 거룩하게 하라 그는 네 하나님의 식물을 드림이니라 너는 그를 거룩히 여기라 나 여호와 너희를 거룩하게 하는 자는 거룩함이니라

풀이: 너는 그를 거룩하게 대하여라. 그는 네 신의 양식을 올려 드리는 자다. 그러니 그를 거룩한 사람으로 여겨라. 너희를 거룩하게 하는 나, 신이 거룩하기 때문이다.

Thou shalt sanctify him therefore; for he offereth the bread of thy God: he shall be holy unto thee: for I the Lord, which sanctify you, am holy.

아무 제사장의 딸이든지 행음하여 스스로 더럽히면 그 아비를 욕되게 함이니 그를 불사를찌니라

풀이: 어느 제사장의 딸이든 몸을 팔아 스스로를 더럽히면, 이는 제 아비를 속되게 하는 짓이니, 그 딸은 불에 태워야 한다.

And the daughter of any priest, if she profane herself by playing the whore, she profaneth her father: she shall be burnt with fire.

자기 형제중 관유로 부음을 받고 위임되어 예복을 입은 대제사장은 그 머리를 풀지 말며 그 옷을 찢지 말며

풀이: 제 형제들 가운데서도 머리에 성별의 기름을 부음받고, 거룩한 예복을 입도록 세움받은 대제사장은, 머리를 풀어 헤치지 말고 제 옷을 찢지 마라.

And he that is the high priest among his brethren, upon whose head the anointing oil was poured, and that is consecrated to put on the garments, shall not uncover his head, nor rend his clothes;

어떤 시체에든지 가까이 말찌니 부모로 인하여도 더러워지게 말며

풀이: 그는 어떤 주검에게도 가까이 가서는 안 된다. 제 아버지나 어머니가 죽었다 해도 그 곁에 가 스스로를 더럽혀서는 안 된다.

Neither shall he go in to any dead body, nor defile himself for his father, or for his mother;

성소에서 나오지 말며 그 하나님의 성소를 더럽히지 말라 이는 하나님의 위임한 관유가 그 위에 있음이니라 나는 여호와니라

풀이: 성소를 떠나서도 안 되고, 제 신의 성소를 속되게 해서도 안 된다. 그의 신이 부어 세운 성별의 기름, 그 표가 그의 머리 위에 얹혀 있기 때문이다. 나는 신이다.

Neither shall he go out of the sanctuary, nor profane the sanctuary of his God; for the crown of the anointing oil of his God is upon him: I am the Lord.

그는 처녀를 취하여 아내를 삼을찌니

풀이: 그는 처녀를 아내로 맞아야 한다.

And he shall take a wife in her virginity.

과부나 이혼 된 여인이나 더러운 여인이나 기생을 취하지 말고 자기 백성중 처녀를 취하여 아내를 삼아

풀이: 과부나 버림받은 여인이나 몸을 더럽힌 여인이나 몸 파는 여인은 맞지 말고, 오직 제 백성 가운데서 처녀를 골라 아내로 삼아라.

A widow, or a divorced woman, or profane, or an harlot, these shall he not take: but he shall take a virgin of his own people to wife.

그 자손으로 백성 중에서 더럽히지 말찌니 나는 그를 거룩하게 하는 여호와임이니라

풀이: 그리하여 제 백성 가운데 자기 자손의 핏줄을 속되게 하지 마라. 나는 그를 거룩하게 하는 신이다."

Neither shall he profane his seed among his people: for I the Lord do sanctify him.

여호와께서 모세에게 일러 가라사대

풀이: 신이 모세에게 일렀다.

And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

아론에게 고하여 이르라 무릇 너의 대대 자손중 육체에 흠이 있는 자는 그 하나님의 식물을 드리려고 가까이 오지 못할 것이라

풀이: "아론에게 전하여라. 대대로 네 자손 가운데 몸에 흠이 있는 자는, 제 신의 양식을 올려 드리려고 가까이 나아와서는 안 된다.

Speak unto Aaron, saying, Whosoever he be of thy seed in their generations that hath any blemish, let him not approach to offer the bread of his God.

무릇 흠이 있는 자는 가까이 못할찌니 곧 소경이나 절뚝발이나 코가 불완전한 자나 지체가 더한 자나

풀이: 몸에 흠이 있는 자는 누구든 가까이 와서는 안 된다 — 앞 못 보는 자, 다리 저는 자, 코가 일그러진 자, 몸의 한 부분이 지나치게 자란 자,

For whatsoever man he be that hath a blemish, he shall not approach: a blind man, or a lame, or he that hath a flat nose, or any thing superfluous,

발 부러진 자나 손 부러진 자나

풀이: 발이 부러진 자나 손이 부러진 자,

Or a man that is brokenfooted, or brokenhanded,

곱사등이나 난장이나 눈에 백막이 있는 자나 괴혈병이나 버짐이 있는 자나 불알 상한 자나

풀이: 곱사등이나 키가 자라지 못한 자, 눈에 백태가 낀 자, 옴이나 버짐이 있는 자, 고환이 상한 자다.

Or crookbackt, or a dwarf, or that hath a blemish in his eye, or be scurvy, or scabbed, or hath his stones broken;

제사장 아론의 자손 중에 흠이 있는 자는 나아와 여호와의 화제를 드리지 못할찌니 그는 흠이 있은즉 나아와 하나님의 식물을 드리지 못하느니라

풀이: 제사장 아론의 자손 가운데 흠이 있는 자는, 신에게 불살라 바치는 제물을 드리려고 나아오지 못한다. 그에게 흠이 있으니, 제 신의 양식을 올려 드리려고 나아오지 못한다.

No man that hath a blemish of the seed of Aaron the priest shall come nigh to offer the offerings of the Lord made by fire: he hath a blemish; he shall not come nigh to offer the bread of his God.

그는 하나님의 식물의 지성물이든지 성물이든지 먹을 것이나

풀이: 다만 그도 제 신의 양식은 먹을 수 있다 — 가장 거룩한 것이든, 거룩한 것이든.

He shall eat the bread of his God, both of the most holy, and of the holy.

장 안에 들어가지 못할 것이요 단에 가까이 못할찌니 이는 그가 흠이 있음이라 이와 같이 그가 나의 성소를 더럽히지 못할 것은 나는 그들을 거룩하게 하는 여호와임이니라

풀이: 그러나 휘장 안으로는 들어가지 못하고, 제단에 가까이 가지도 못한다. 그에게 흠이 있기 때문이다. 이는 그가 나의 성소를 속되게 하지 못하게 하려는 것이다. 나는 그들을 거룩하게 하는 신이다."

Only he shall not go in unto the vail, nor come nigh unto the altar, because he hath a blemish; that he profane not my sanctuaries: for I the Lord do sanctify them.

모세가 이대로 아론과 그 아들들과 온 이스라엘 자손에게 고하였더라

풀이: 모세는 이대로 아론과 그 아들들과 온 이스라엘 백성에게 전했다.

And Moses told it unto Aaron, and to his sons, and unto all the children of Israel.
