신명기 10장

그 때에 여호와께서 내게 이르시기를 너는 처음과 같은 두 돌판을 다듬어 가지고 산에 올라 내게로 나아오고 또 나무궤 하나를 만들라

풀이: 그때 신이 내게 말했다. "처음 것과 똑같은 돌판 둘을 깎아 들고 산으로 올라와 내게로 오너라. 그리고 나무 궤도 하나 만들어라."

At that time the Lord said unto me, Hew thee two tables of stone like unto the first, and come up unto me into the mount, and make thee an ark of wood.

네가 깨뜨린 처음 판에 쓴 말을 내가 그 판에 쓰리니 너는 그것을 그 궤에 넣으라 하시기로

풀이: "네가 깨뜨린 처음 판에 적혔던 그 말을 내가 이 판에 다시 새겨 주겠다. 너는 그것을 그 궤에 넣어 두어라."

And I will write on the tables the words that were in the first tables which thou brakest, and thou shalt put them in the ark.

내가 싯딤나무로 궤를 만들고 처음 것과 같은 돌판 둘을 다듬어 손에 들고 산에 오르매

풀이: 그래서 나는 아카시아 나무로 궤를 만들고, 처음 것과 똑같은 돌판 둘을 깎아 손에 들고 산에 올랐다.

And I made an ark of shittim wood, and hewed two tables of stone like unto the first, and went up into the mount, having the two tables in mine hand.

여호와께서 그 총회날에 산 위 불 가운데서 너희에게 이르신 십계명을 처음과 같이 그 판에 쓰시고 그것을 내게 주시기로

풀이: 신은 그 총회 날 산 위 불길 가운데서 너희에게 일렀던 열 마디, 곧 십계명을 처음과 똑같이 그 판에 새겨 내게 주었다.

And he wrote on the tables, according to the first writing, the ten commandments, which the Lord spake unto you in the mount out of the midst of the fire in the day of the assembly: and the Lord gave them unto me.

내가 돌이켜 산에서 내려와서 여호와께서 내게 명하신 대로 그 판을 내가 만든 궤에 넣었더니 지금까지 있느니라

풀이: 나는 돌아서 산에서 내려와, 신이 명한 대로 그 판을 내가 만든 궤에 넣었다. 그 판은 지금도 거기 있다.

And I turned myself and came down from the mount, and put the tables in the ark which I had made; and there they be, as the Lord commanded me.

(이스라엘 자손이 브에롯 브네야아간에서 발행하여 모세라에 이르러서는 아론이 거기서 죽고 거기 장사되었고 그 아들 엘르아살이 그를 이어 제사장의 직임을 행하였으며

풀이: (이스라엘 백성은 브에롯 브네야아간을 떠나 모세라에 이르렀고, 아론이 거기서 죽어 거기 묻혔다. 그의 아들 엘르아살이 그를 이어 제사장 일을 맡았다.

And the children of Israel took their journey from Beeroth of the children of Jaakan to Mosera: there Aaron died, and there he was buried; and Eleazar his son ministered in the priest’s office in his stead.

또 거기서 발행하여 굿고다에 이르고 굿고다에서 발행하여 욧바다에 이른즉 그 땅에는 시내가 많았었으며

풀이: 거기서 다시 굿고다로, 굿고다에서 다시 욧바다로 나아갔는데, 그 땅에는 시냇물이 많았다.

From thence they journeyed unto Gudgodah; and from Gudgodah to Jotbath, a land of rivers of waters.

그 때에 여호와께서 레위 지파를 구별하여 여호와의 언약 궤를 메이며 여호와 앞에 서서 그를 섬기며 또 여호와의 이름으로 축복하게 하셨고 그 일은 오늘날까지 이르느니라

풀이: 그때 신은 레위 지파를 따로 구별해, 신의 언약 궤를 메고 신 앞에 서서 그를 섬기며 그 이름으로 축복하는 일을 맡겼다. 그 일은 오늘까지 이어진다.

At that time the Lord separated the tribe of Levi, to bear the ark of the covenant of the Lord, to stand before the Lord to minister unto him, and to bless in his name, unto this day.

그러므로 레위는 그 형제 중에 분깃이 없으며 기업이 없고 네 하나님 여호와께서 그에게 말씀하심 같이 여호와가 그의 기업이시니라)

풀이: 그래서 레위 지파에게는 형제들과 나눠 가질 몫도, 물려받을 땅도 없다. 신이 그에게 말한 대로, 신 자신이 그들의 몫이기 때문이다.)

Wherefore Levi hath no part nor inheritance with his brethren; the Lord is his inheritance, according as the Lord thy God promised him.

내가 처음과 같이 사십 주야를 산에 유하였고 그 때에도 여호와께서 내 말을 들으사 너를 참아 멸하지 아니하시고

풀이: 나는 처음처럼 40일 밤낮을 산에 머물렀고, 그때도 신은 내 말을 들어 주어 너희를 끝내 멸하지 않았다.

And I stayed in the mount, according to the first time, forty days and forty nights; and the Lord hearkened unto me at that time also, and the Lord would not destroy thee.

여호와께서 내게 이르시되 일어나서 백성 앞서 진행하라 내가 그들에게 주리라고 그 열조에게 맹세한 땅에 그들이 들어가서 그것을 얻으리라 하셨느니라

풀이: 신이 내게 말했다. "일어나 백성보다 앞서 길을 떠나라. 내가 그들의 조상에게 주겠다고 맹세한 그 땅에 그들이 들어가 차지할 것이다."

And the Lord said unto me, Arise, take thy journey before the people, that they may go in and possess the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give unto them.

이스라엘아 네 하나님 여호와께서 네게 요구하시는 것이 무엇이냐 곧 네 하나님 여호와를 경외하여 그 모든 도를 행하고 그를 사랑하며 마음을 다하고 성품을 다하여 네 하나님 여호와를 섬기고

풀이: 이스라엘아, 이제 신이 네게 바라는 것이 무엇이겠느냐? 다른 게 아니다. 신을 경외하고, 그가 보여 준 길을 한결같이 걸으며, 그를 사랑하고, 마음을 다하고 목숨을 다해 신을 섬기는 것,

And now, Israel, what doth the Lord thy God require of thee, but to fear the Lord thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the Lord thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul,

내가 오늘날 네 행복을 위하여 네게 명하는 여호와의 명령과 규례를 지킬 것이 아니냐

풀이: 그리고 오늘 내가 너의 행복을 위해 일러 주는 신의 명령과 규례를 지키는 것, 그것뿐이다.

To keep the commandments of the Lord, and his statutes, which I command thee this day for thy good?

하늘과 모든 하늘의 하늘과 땅과 그 위의 만물은 본래 네 하나님 여호와께 속한 것이로되

풀이: 보아라. 하늘도, 하늘 위의 하늘도, 땅도, 그 안의 모든 것도 본래 다 신의 것이다.

Behold, the heaven and the heaven of heavens is the Lord’s thy God, the earth also, with all that therein is.

여호와께서 오직 네 열조를 기뻐하시고 그들을 사랑하사 그 후손 너희를 만민 중에서 택하셨음이 오늘날과 같으니라

풀이: 그런데도 신은 오직 네 조상에게 마음을 두어 그들을 사랑했고, 그 뒤를 잇는 너희를 모든 민족 가운데서 골라 세웠다. 오늘 너희가 보는 그대로다.

Only the Lord had a delight in thy fathers to love them, and he chose their seed after them, even you above all people, as it is this day.

그러므로 너희는 마음에 할례를 행하고 다시는 목을 곧게 하지 말라

풀이: 그러니 너희는 마음에 할례를 행하고, 다시는 목을 뻣뻣하게 세우지 마라.

Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no more stiffnecked.

너희의 하나님 여호와는 신의 신이시며 주의 주시요 크고 능하시며 두려우신 하나님이시라 사람을 외모로 보지 아니하시며 뇌물을 받지 아니하시고

풀이: 너희의 신은 신 중의 신이요 주 중의 주, 크고 강하고 두려운 신이다. 그는 사람의 겉모습에 휘둘리지 않고, 뇌물을 받지 않는다.

For the Lord your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God, a mighty, and a terrible, which regardeth not persons, nor taketh reward:

고아와 과부를 위하여 신원하시며 나그네를 사랑하사 그에게 식물과 의복을 주시나니

풀이: 그는 고아와 과부의 억울함을 풀어 주고, 떠도는 나그네를 사랑해 그에게 먹을 것과 입을 것을 준다.

He doth execute the judgment of the fatherless and widow, and loveth the stranger, in giving him food and raiment.

너희는 나그네를 사랑하라 전에 너희도 애굽 땅에서 나그네 되었었음이니라

풀이: 그러니 너희도 나그네를 사랑하여라. 너희 또한 이집트 땅에서 떠도는 나그네였다.

Love ye therefore the stranger: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt.

네 하나님 여호와를 경외하여 그를 섬기며 그에게 친근히 하고 그 이름으로 맹세하라

풀이: 너의 신을 경외하고 그를 섬겨라. 그에게 바짝 붙어 떨어지지 말고, 그 이름으로만 맹세하여라.

Thou shalt fear the Lord thy God; him shalt thou serve, and to him shalt thou cleave, and swear by his name.

그는 네 찬송이시요 네 하나님이시라 네가 목도한바 이같이 크고 두려운 일을 너를 위하여 행하셨느니라

풀이: 그는 너의 자랑이요 너의 신이다. 네가 두 눈으로 똑똑히 본, 저 크고 두려운 일들을 너를 위해 행한 분이다.

He is thy praise, and he is thy God, that hath done for thee these great and terrible things, which thine eyes have seen.

애굽에 내려간 네 열조가 겨우 칠십인이었으나 이제는 네 하나님 여호와께서 너를 하늘의 별 같이 많게 하셨느니라

풀이: 이집트로 내려간 네 조상은 겨우 70명이었다. 그런데 이제 신은 너를 하늘의 별처럼 많게 했다.

Thy fathers went down into Egypt with threescore and ten persons; and now the Lord thy God hath made thee as the stars of heaven for multitude.
