출애굽기 24장

또 모세에게 이르시되 너는 아론과 나답과 아비후와 이스라엘 장로 칠십인과 함께 여호와에게로 올라와 멀리서 경배하고

풀이: 신이 모세에게 말했다. "너는 아론과 나답과 아비후, 그리고 이스라엘 장로 70명과 함께 나에게로 올라오너라. 그러나 멀찍이 떨어진 곳에서 절하여라.

And he said unto Moses, Come up unto the Lord, thou, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel; and worship ye afar off.

너 모세만 여호와에게 가까이 나아오고 그들은 가까이 나아오지 말며 백성은 너와 함께 올라오지 말찌니라

풀이: 모세 너만 나에게 가까이 다가오고, 나머지는 가까이 오지 마라. 백성도 너와 함께 올라와서는 안 된다."

And Moses alone shall come near the Lord: but they shall not come nigh; neither shall the people go up with him.

모세가 와서 여호와의 모든 말씀과 그 모든 율례를 백성에게 고하매 그들이 한 소리로 응답하여 가로되 여호와의 명하신 모든 말씀을 우리가 준행하리이다

풀이: 모세가 내려와 신의 모든 말씀과 모든 규례를 백성에게 전했다. 그러자 온 백성이 한목소리로 대답했다. "신이 이르신 모든 말씀을 그대로 행하겠습니다."

And Moses came and told the people all the words of the Lord, and all the judgments: and all the people answered with one voice, and said, All the words which the Lord hath said will we do.

모세가 여호와의 모든 말씀을 기록하고 이른 아침에 일어나 산 아래 단을 쌓고 이스라엘 십 이 지파대로 열 두 기둥을 세우고

풀이: 모세는 신의 모든 말씀을 글로 적었다. 그리고 이튿날 새벽 일찍 일어나 산기슭에 제단을 쌓고, 이스라엘 열두 지파를 따라 기둥 열둘을 세웠다.

And Moses wrote all the words of the Lord, and rose up early in the morning, and builded an altar under the hill, and twelve pillars, according to the twelve tribes of Israel.

이스라엘 자손의 청년들을 보내어 번제와 소로 화목제를 여호와께 드리게 하고

풀이: 그는 이스라엘 자손 가운데 젊은이들을 보내, 번제를 드리고 수소를 잡아 화목제로 신께 바치게 했다.

And he sent young men of the children of Israel, which offered burnt offerings, and sacrificed peace offerings of oxen unto the Lord.

모세가 피를 취하여 반은 여러 양푼에 담고 반은 단에 뿌리고

풀이: 모세는 그 피의 절반을 가져다 여러 대접에 담고, 나머지 절반은 제단에 뿌렸다.

And Moses took half of the blood, and put it in basons; and half of the blood he sprinkled on the altar.

언약서를 가져 백성에게 낭독하여 들리매 그들이 가로되 여호와의 모든 말씀을 우리가 준행하리이다

풀이: 그리고 언약을 적은 책을 가져다 백성이 듣는 데서 소리 내어 읽었다. 백성이 말했다. "신이 이르신 모든 말씀을 우리가 행하고, 또 따르겠습니다."

And he took the book of the covenant, and read in the audience of the people: and they said, All that the Lord hath said will we do, and be obedient.

모세가 그 피를 취하여 백성에게 뿌려 가로되 이는 여호와께서 이 모든 말씀에 대하여 너희와 세우신 언약의 피니라

풀이: 모세는 그 피를 가져다 백성에게 뿌리며 말했다. "보아라, 이것은 신이 이 모든 말씀에 근거하여 너희와 맺으신 언약의 피다."

And Moses took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people, and said, Behold the blood of the covenant, which the Lord hath made with you concerning all these words.

모세와 아론과 나답과 아비후와 이스라엘 장로 칠십인이 올라가서

풀이: 그러고 나서 모세와 아론과 나답과 아비후, 그리고 이스라엘 장로 70명이 산으로 올라갔다.

Then went up Moses, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel:

이스라엘 하나님을 보니 그 발 아래에는 청옥을 편듯하고 하늘 같이 청명하더라

풀이: 그들은 이스라엘의 신을 보았다. 그 발 아래에는 청옥을 깔아 놓은 듯한 바닥이 있었는데, 하늘 그 자체처럼 맑고 투명했다.

And they saw the God of Israel: and there was under his feet as it were a paved work of a sapphire stone, and as it were the body of heaven in his clearness.

하나님이 이스라엘의 존귀한 자들에게 손을 대지 아니하셨고 그들은 하나님을 보고 먹고 마셨더라

풀이: 신은 이스라엘의 귀인들에게 손을 대지 않았다. 그들은 신을 우러러보았고, 그러고도 먹고 마셨다.

And upon the nobles of the children of Israel he laid not his hand: also they saw God, and did eat and drink.

여호와께서 모세에게 이르시되 너는 산에 올라 내게로 와서 거기 있으라 너로 그들을 가르치려고 내가 율법과 계명을 친히 기록한 돌판을 네게 주리라

풀이: 신이 모세에게 말했다. "산으로, 내게로 올라와 거기 머물러라. 내가 너에게 돌판을 주겠다. 백성을 가르치도록, 내가 직접 율법과 계명을 새겨 둔 판이다."

And the Lord said unto Moses, Come up to me into the mount, and be there: and I will give thee tables of stone, and a law, and commandments which I have written; that thou mayest teach them.

모세가 그 종자 여호수아와 함께 일어나 하나님의 산으로 올라가며

풀이: 모세는 자기를 시중드는 여호수아와 함께 일어났고, 모세는 신의 산으로 올라갔다.

And Moses rose up, and his minister Joshua: and Moses went up into the mount of God.

장로들에게 이르되 너희는 여기서 우리가 너희에게로 돌아오기까지 기다리라 아론과 훌이 너희와 함께하리니 무릇 일이 있는 자는 그들에게로 나아갈찌니라 하고

풀이: 그는 장로들에게 일러두었다. "우리가 너희에게 돌아올 때까지 여기서 기다려라. 보아라, 아론과 훌이 너희와 함께 있을 것이다. 무슨 일이 생기는 사람은 그들에게 가거라."

And he said unto the elders, Tarry ye here for us, until we come again unto you: and, behold, Aaron and Hur are with you: if any man have any matters to do, let him come unto them.

모세가 산에 오르매 구름이 산을 가리며

풀이: 모세가 산으로 올라가자 구름이 산을 뒤덮었다.

And Moses went up into the mount, and a cloud covered the mount.

여호와의 영광이 시내산 위에 머무르고 구름이 육일 동안 산을 가리더니 제 칠일에 여호와께서 구름 가운데서 모세를 부르시니라

풀이: 신의 영광이 시내산 위에 머물렀고, 구름이 6일 동안 산을 가렸다. 7일째 되는 날, 신은 구름 가운데서 모세를 불렀다.

And the glory of the Lord abode upon mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days: and the seventh day he called unto Moses out of the midst of the cloud.

산 위의 여호와의 영광이 이스라엘 자손의 눈에 맹렬한 불 같이 보였고

풀이: 산 위에 머문 신의 영광은 이스라엘 자손의 눈에 모든 것을 삼키는 불처럼 보였다.

And the sight of the glory of the Lord was like devouring fire on the top of the mount in the eyes of the children of Israel.

모세는 구름 속으로 들어가서 산 위에 올랐으며 사십일 사십야를 산에 있으니라

풀이: 모세는 구름 속으로 들어가 산 위로 올라갔다. 그렇게 모세는 40일 밤낮을 그 산에 있었다.

And Moses went into the midst of the cloud, and gat him up into the mount: and Moses was in the mount forty days and forty nights.
