민수기 12장

모세가 구스 여자를 취하였더니 그 구스 여자를 취하였으므로 미리암과 아론이 모세를 비방하니라

풀이: 모세가 구스 여자를 아내로 맞이했다. 그 구스 여자를 아내로 들였다는 이유로, 미리암과 아론이 모세를 헐뜯었다.

And Miriam and Aaron spake against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman whom he had married: for he had married an Ethiopian woman.

그들이 이르되 여호와께서 모세와만 말씀하셨느냐 우리와도 말씀하지 아니하셨느냐 하매 여호와께서 이 말을 들으셨더라

풀이: 그들이 말했다. "신이 모세를 통해서만 말했느냐? 우리를 통해서도 말하지 않았느냐?" 신이 이 말을 들었다.

And they said, Hath the Lord indeed spoken only by Moses? hath he not spoken also by us? And the Lord heard it.

이 사람 모세는 온유함이 지면의 모든 사람보다 승하더라

풀이: (그런데 이 사람 모세는, 땅 위 그 누구보다도 자신을 낮출 줄 아는 사람이었다.)

(Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.)

여호와께서 갑자기 모세와 아론과 미리암에게 이르시되 너희 삼인은 회막으로 나아오라 하시니 그 삼인이 나아가매

풀이: 신이 갑자기 모세와 아론과 미리암에게 일렀다. "너희 셋은 회막으로 나오너라." 셋이 나아갔다.

And the Lord spake suddenly unto Moses, and unto Aaron, and unto Miriam, Come out ye three unto the tabernacle of the congregation. And they three came out.

여호와께서 구름 기둥 가운데로서 강림하사 장막 문에 서시고 아론과 미리암을 부르시는지라 그 두 사람이 나아가매

풀이: 신이 구름 기둥 가운데로 내려와 장막 문에 서서, 아론과 미리암을 불렀다. 두 사람이 앞으로 나아가자,

And the Lord came down in the pillar of the cloud, and stood in the door of the tabernacle, and called Aaron and Miriam: and they both came forth.

이르시되 내 말을 들으라 너희 중에 선지자가 있으면 나 여호와가 이상으로 나를 그에게 알리기도 하고 꿈으로 그와 말하기도 하거니와

풀이: 신이 말했다. "내 말을 들어라. 너희 가운데 예언자가 있으면, 나는 환상으로 나를 그에게 알리고 꿈으로 그와 이야기한다.

And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the Lord will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream.

내 종 모세와는 그렇지 아니하니 그는 나의 온 집에 충성됨이라

풀이: 그러나 내 종 모세는 다르다. 그는 나의 온 집안을 떠받치는, 믿고 맡길 만한 사람이다.

My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all mine house.

그와는 내가 대면하여 명백히 말하고 은밀한 말로 아니하며 그는 또 여호와의 형상을 보겠거늘 너희가 어찌하여 내 종 모세 비방하기를 두려워 아니하느냐

풀이: 그와는 내가 입과 입을 맞대고 또렷이 말한다. 알쏭달쏭한 수수께끼로 말하지 않는다. 그는 신의 모습까지 바라본다. 그런데 너희는 어찌하여 내 종 모세를 헐뜯기를 두려워하지 않았느냐?"

With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the Lord shall he behold: wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?

여호와께서 그들을 향하여 진노하시고 떠나시매

풀이: 신은 그들에게 진노하고 떠나갔다.

And the anger of the Lord was kindled against them; and he departed.

구름이 장막 위에서 떠나갔고 미리암은 문둥병이 들려 눈과 같더라 아론이 미리암을 본즉 문둥병이 들었는지라

풀이: 구름이 장막 위에서 걷히자, 보라, 미리암이 눈처럼 새하얗게 나병에 걸려 있었다. 아론이 미리암을 돌아보니 그는 나병에 걸려 있었다.

And the cloud departed from off the tabernacle; and, behold, Miriam became leprous, white as snow: and Aaron looked upon Miriam, and, behold, she was leprous.

아론이 이에 모세에게 이르되 슬프다 내 주여 우리가 우매한 일을 하여 죄를 얻었으나 청컨대 그 허물을 우리에게 돌리지 마소서

풀이: 아론이 모세에게 말했다. "아, 내 주여, 우리가 어리석게 죄를 지었습니다. 부디 그 허물을 우리에게 지우지 마십시오.

And Aaron said unto Moses, Alas, my lord, I beseech thee, lay not the sin upon us, wherein we have done foolishly, and wherein we have sinned.

그로 살이 반이나 썩고 죽어서 모태에서 나온 자 같이 되게 마옵소서

풀이: 그를 죽은 채 태어나, 살이 반쯤 썩은 채 어미 배에서 나온 아이처럼 되게 하지 마십시오."

Let her not be as one dead, of whom the flesh is half consumed when he cometh out of his mother’s womb.

모세가 여호와께 부르짖어 가로되 하나님이여 원컨대 그를 고쳐 주옵소서

풀이: 모세가 신에게 부르짖었다. "신이여, 부디 그를 고쳐 주십시오."

And Moses cried unto the Lord, saying, Heal her now, O God, I beseech thee.

여호와께서 모세에게 이르시되 그의 아비가 그의 얼굴에 침을 뱉았을찌라도 그가 칠일간 부끄러워하지 않겠느냐 그런즉 그를 진 밖에 칠일을 가두고 그 후에 들어 오게 할찌니라 하시니

풀이: 신이 모세에게 일렀다. "그의 아버지가 그 얼굴에 침을 뱉었더라도, 7일은 부끄러워하지 않겠느냐? 그러니 그를 진 밖에 7일 동안 가두었다가, 그 후에 다시 들이도록 하여라."

And the Lord said unto Moses, If her father had but spit in her face, should she not be ashamed seven days? let her be shut out from the camp seven days, and after that let her be received in again.

이에 미리암이 진 밖에 칠일동안 갇혔고 백성은 그를 다시 들어오게 하기까지 진행치 아니하다가

풀이: 그래서 미리암은 진 밖에 7일 동안 갇혔고, 백성은 미리암이 다시 들어오기까지 길을 떠나지 않았다.

And Miriam was shut out from the camp seven days: and the people journeyed not till Miriam was brought in again.

그 후에 백성이 하세롯에서 진행하여 바란 광야에 진을 치니라

풀이: 그 후에 백성은 하세롯을 떠나, 바란 광야에 진을 쳤다.

And afterward the people removed from Hazeroth, and pitched in the wilderness of Paran.
