에스라 2장

옛적에 바벨론 왕 느부갓네살에게 사로잡혀 바벨론으로 갔던 자의 자손 중에서 놓임을 받고 예루살렘과 유다 도로 돌아와 각기 본성에 이른 자

풀이: 옛날 바벨론 왕 느부갓네살에게 사로잡혀 바벨론으로 끌려갔던 사람들의 후손 가운데, 이제 포로 신세에서 풀려나 예루살렘과 유다로 다시 돌아와 저마다 제 고향 성읍으로 찾아든 이들은 이러하다. 이들은 한 속주에 속한 백성이었다.

Now these are the children of the province that went up out of the captivity, of those which had been carried away, whom Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon had carried away unto Babylon, and came again unto Jerusalem and Judah, every one unto his city;

곧 스룹바벨과 예수아와 느헤미야와 스라야와 르엘라야와 모르드개와 빌산과 미스발과 비그왜와 르훔과 바아나등과 함께 나온 이스라엘 백성의 명수가 이러하니

풀이: 이들은 스룹바벨을 따라 함께 올라왔다. 예수아, 느헤미야, 스라야, 르엘라야, 모르드개, 빌산, 미스발, 비그왜, 르훔, 바아나가 그들을 이끌었다. 돌아온 이스라엘 백성의 수를 가문별로 헤아리면 이러하다.

Which came with Zerubbabel: Jeshua, Nehemiah, Seraiah, Reelaiah, Mordecai, Bilshan, Mispar, Bigvai, Rehum, Baanah. The number of the men of the people of Israel:

바로스 자손이 이천 일백 칠십 이명이요

풀이: 바로스 가문이 2172명,

The children of Parosh, two thousand an hundred seventy and two.

스바댜 자손이 삼백 칠십 이명이요

풀이: 스바댜 가문이 372명,

The children of Shephatiah, three hundred seventy and two.

아라 자손이 칠백 칠십 오명이요

풀이: 아라 가문이 775명,

The children of Arah, seven hundred seventy and five.

바핫모압 자손 곧 예수아와 요압 자손이 이천 팔백 십 이명이요

풀이: 바핫모압 가문, 곧 예수아와 요압 계통이 2812명,

The children of Pahath–moab, of the children of Jeshua and Joab, two thousand eight hundred and twelve.

엘람 자손이 일천 이백 오십 사명이요

풀이: 엘람 가문이 1254명,

The children of Elam, a thousand two hundred fifty and four.

삿두 자손이 구백 사십 오명이요

풀이: 삿두 가문이 945명,

The children of Zattu, nine hundred forty and five.

삭개 자손이 칠백 육십명이요

풀이: 삭개 가문이 760명,

The children of Zaccai, seven hundred and threescore.

바니 자손이 육백 사십 이명이요

풀이: 바니 가문이 642명,

The children of Bani, six hundred forty and two.

브배 자손이 육백 이십 삼명이요

The children of Bebai, six hundred twenty and three.

아스갓 자손이 일천 이백 이십 이명이요

풀이: 아스갓 가문이 1222명,

The children of Azgad, a thousand two hundred twenty and two.

아도니감 자손이 육백 육십 륙명이요

풀이: 아도니감 가문이 666명,

The children of Adonikam, six hundred sixty and six.

비그왜 자손이 이천 오십 륙명이요

풀이: 비그왜 가문이 2056명,

The children of Bigvai, two thousand fifty and six.

아딘 자손이 사백 오십 사명이요

풀이: 아딘 가문이 454명,

The children of Adin, four hundred fifty and four.

아델 자손 곧 히스기야 자손이 구십 팔명이요

풀이: 아델 가문, 곧 히스기야 계통이 98명,

The children of Ater of Hezekiah, ninety and eight.

베새 자손이 삼백 이십 삼명이요

풀이: 베새 가문이 323명,

The children of Bezai, three hundred twenty and three.

요라 자손이 일백 십 이명이요

풀이: 요라 가문이 112명,

The children of Jorah, an hundred and twelve.

하숨 자손이 이백 이십 삼명이요

풀이: 하숨 가문이 223명,

The children of Hashum, two hundred twenty and three.

깁발 자손이 구십 오명이요

풀이: 깁발 가문이 95명이었다.

The children of Gibbar, ninety and five.

베들레헴 사람이 일백 이십 삼명이요

풀이: 고향 지명으로 헤아린 이들도 있었다. 베들레헴 사람이 123명,

The children of Beth–lehem, an hundred twenty and three.

느도바 사람이 오십 륙명이요

풀이: 느도바 사람이 56명,

The men of Netophah, fifty and six.

아나돗 사람이 일백 이십 팔명이요

풀이: 아나돗 사람이 128명,

The men of Anathoth, an hundred twenty and eight.

아스마웻 자손이 사십 이명이요

풀이: 아스마웻 사람이 42명,

The children of Azmaveth, forty and two.

기랴다림과 그비라와 브에롯 자손이 칠백 사십 삼명이요

풀이: 기랴다림과 그비라와 브에롯 사람이 743명,

The children of Kirjath–arim, Chephirah, and Beeroth, seven hundred and forty and three.

라마와 게바 자손이 육백 이십 일명이요

풀이: 라마와 게바 사람이 621명,

The children of Ramah and Gaba, six hundred twenty and one.

믹마스 사람이 일백 이십 이명이요

풀이: 믹마스 사람이 122명,

The men of Michmas, an hundred twenty and two.

벧엘과 아이 사람이 이백 이십 삼명이요

풀이: 벧엘과 아이 사람이 223명,

The men of Beth–el and Ai, two hundred twenty and three.

느보 자손이 오십 이명이요

풀이: 느보 사람이 52명,

The children of Nebo, fifty and two.

막비스 자손이 일백 오십 륙명이요

풀이: 막비스 사람이 156명,

The children of Magbish, an hundred fifty and six.

다른 엘람 자손이 일천 이백 오십 사명이요

풀이: 또 다른 엘람 사람이 1254명,

The children of the other Elam, a thousand two hundred fifty and four.

하림 자손이 삼백 이십명이요

풀이: 하림 사람이 320명,

The children of Harim, three hundred and twenty.

로드와 하딧과 오노 자손이 칠백 이십 오명이요

풀이: 로드와 하딧과 오노 사람이 725명,

The children of Lod, Hadid, and Ono, seven hundred twenty and five.

여리고 자손이 삼백 사십 오명이요

풀이: 여리고 사람이 345명,

The children of Jericho, three hundred forty and five.

스나아 자손이 삼천 육백 삼십명이었더라

풀이: 스나아 사람이 3630명이었다.

The children of Senaah, three thousand and six hundred and thirty.

제사장들은 예수아의 집 여다야 자손이 구백 칠십 삼명이요

풀이: 제사장들은 이러했다. 예수아 집안의 여다야 가문이 973명,

The priests: the children of Jedaiah, of the house of Jeshua, nine hundred seventy and three.

임멜 자손이 일천 오십 이명이요

풀이: 임멜 가문이 1052명,

The children of Immer, a thousand fifty and two.

바스훌 자손이 일천 이백 사십 칠명이요

풀이: 바스훌 가문이 1247명,

The children of Pashur, a thousand two hundred forty and seven.

하림 자손이 일천 십 칠명이었더라

풀이: 하림 가문이 1017명이었다.

The children of Harim, a thousand and seventeen.

레위 사람은 호다위야 자손 곧 예수아와 갓미엘 자손이 칠십 사명이요

풀이: 레위 사람들은 호다위야 계통의 예수아와 갓미엘 가문으로 74명이었다.

The Levites: the children of Jeshua and Kadmiel, of the children of Hodaviah, seventy and four.

노래하는 자들은 아삽 자손이 일백 이십 팔명이요

풀이: 성전에서 노래하는 이들은 아삽 가문으로 128명이었다.

The singers: the children of Asaph, an hundred twenty and eight.

문지기의 자손들은 살룸과 아델과 달문과 악굽과 하디다와 소배 자손이 모두 일백 삼십 구명이었더라

풀이: 성전 문을 지키는 이들은 살룸, 아델, 달문, 악굽, 하디다, 소배 가문을 모두 합쳐 139명이었다.

The children of the porters: the children of Shallum, the children of Ater, the children of Talmon, the children of Akkub, the children of Hatita, the children of Shobai, in all an hundred thirty and nine.

느디님 사람들은 시하 자손과 하수바 자손과 답바옷 자손과

풀이: 성전에서 잡일을 맡은 종들(느디님)은 이러했다. 시하 가문, 하수바 가문, 답바옷 가문,

The Nethinims: the children of Ziha, the children of Hasupha, the children of Tabbaoth,

게로스 자손과 시아하 자손과 바돈 자손과

풀이: 게로스 가문, 시아하 가문, 바돈 가문,

The children of Keros, the children of Siaha, the children of Padon,

르바나 자손과 하가바 자손과 악굽 자손과

풀이: 르바나 가문, 하가바 가문, 악굽 가문,

The children of Lebanah, the children of Hagabah, the children of Akkub,

하갑 자손과 사믈래 자손과 하난 자손과

깃델 자손과 가할 자손과 르아야 자손과

박북 자손과 하그바 자손과 할훌 자손과

바슬룻 자손과 므히다 자손과 하르사 자손과

The children of Bazluth, the children of Mehida, the children of Harsha,

바르고스 자손과 시스라 자손과 데마 자손과

The children of Barkos, the children of Sisera, the children of Thamah,

느시야 자손과 하디바 자손이었더라

The children of Neziah, the children of Hatipha.

솔로몬의 신복의 자손은 소대 자손과 하소베렛 자손과 브루다 자손과

풀이: 솔로몬 시절 왕실에 딸린 종들의 후손은 이러했다. 소대 가문, 하소베렛 가문, 브루다 가문,

The children of Solomon’s servants: the children of Sotai, the children of Sophereth, the children of Peruda,

야알라 자손과 다르곤 자손과 깃델 자손과

풀이: 야알라 가문, 다르곤 가문, 깃델 가문,

The children of Jaalah, the children of Darkon, the children of Giddel,

스바댜 자손과 하딜 자손과 보게렛하스바임 자손과 아미 자손이니

풀이: 스바댜 가문, 하딜 가문, 보게렛하스바임 가문, 아미 가문이었다.

The children of Shephatiah, the children of Hattil, the children of Pochereth of Zebaim, the children of Ami.

모든 느디님 사람과 솔로몬의 신복의 자손이 삼백 구십 이명이었더라

풀이: 성전 잡일을 맡은 종들과 솔로몬의 종들의 후손을 모두 합치니 392명이었다.

All the Nethinims, and the children of Solomon’s servants, were three hundred ninety and two.

델멜라와 델하르사와 그룹과 앗단과 임멜에서 올라온 자가 있으나 그 종족과 보계가 이스라엘에 속하였는지는 증거할 수 없으니

풀이: 델멜라, 델하르사, 그룹, 앗단, 임멜에서 올라온 이들도 있었다. 그러나 이들은 자기 가문과 혈통이 본래 이스라엘 사람인지를 증명해 보이지 못했다.

And these were they which went up from Tel–melah, Tel–harsa, Cherub, Addan, and Immer: but they could not shew their father’s house, and their seed, whether they were of Israel:

저희는 들라야 자손과 도비야 자손과 느고다 자손이라 도합이 육백 오십 이명이요

풀이: 그들은 들라야 가문, 도비야 가문, 느고다 가문으로, 모두 합쳐 652명이었다.

The children of Delaiah, the children of Tobiah, the children of Nekoda, six hundred fifty and two.

제사장 중에는 하바야 자손과 학고스 자손과 바르실래 자손이니 바르실래는 길르앗 사람 바르실래의 딸 중에 하나로 아내를 삼고 바르실래의 이름으로 이름한 자라

풀이: 제사장 가운데도 그런 이들이 있었다. 하바야 가문, 학고스 가문, 그리고 바르실래 가문이다. 이 바르실래 가문의 조상은 길르앗 사람 바르실래의 딸 가운데 하나를 아내로 맞아, 처가의 이름인 바르실래로 불리게 된 사람이었다.

And of the children of the priests: the children of Habaiah, the children of Koz, the children of Barzillai; which took a wife of the daughters of Barzillai the Gileadite, and was called after their name:

이 사람들이 보계 중에서 자기 이름을 찾아도 얻지 못한고로 저희를 부정하게 여겨 제사장의 직분을 행치 못하게 하고

풀이: 이들은 족보에 올라간 기록 가운데서 자기 이름을 찾으려 했으나 찾아내지 못했다. 그래서 부정하게 여겨져 제사장직에서 밀려났다.

These sought their register among those that were reckoned by genealogy, but they were not found: therefore were they, as polluted, put from the priesthood.

방백이 저희에게 명하여 우림과 둠밈을 가진 제사장이 일어나기 전에는 지성물을 먹지 말라 하였느니라

풀이: 총독은 이들에게 명령했다. 우림과 둠밈을 갖춘 제사장이 나서서 신의 뜻을 물어 가릴 수 있을 때까지는, 가장 거룩한 제물에 손대지 말라는 것이었다.

And the Tirshatha said unto them, that they should not eat of the most holy things, till there stood up a priest with Urim and with Thummim.

온 회중의 합계가 사만 이천 삼백 육십명이요

풀이: 돌아온 회중의 총수는 4만 2360명이었다.

The whole congregation together was forty and two thousand three hundred and threescore,

그 외에 노비가 칠천 삼백 삼십 칠명이요 노래하는 남녀가 이백명이요

풀이: 그 밖에 남녀 종이 7337명, 노래하는 남녀가 200명이었다.

Beside their servants and their maids, of whom there were seven thousand three hundred thirty and seven: and there were among them two hundred singing men and singing women.

말이 칠백 삼십 륙이요 노새가 이백 사십 오요

풀이: 말이 736마리, 노새가 245마리,

Their horses were seven hundred thirty and six; their mules, two hundred forty and five;

약대가 사백 삼십 오요 나귀가 육천 칠백 이십이었더라

풀이: 낙타가 435마리, 나귀가 6720마리였다.

Their camels, four hundred thirty and five; their asses, six thousand seven hundred and twenty.

어떤 족장들이 예루살렘 여호와의 전터에 이르러 하나님의 전을 그곳에 다시 건축하려고 예물을 즐거이 드리되

풀이: 가문의 어른들 가운데 더러는 예루살렘에 있는 신의 성전 터에 이르자, 신의 성전을 그 자리에 다시 세우려고 자원하여 예물을 바쳤다.

And some of the chief of the fathers, when they came to the house of the Lord which is at Jerusalem, offered freely for the house of God to set it up in his place:

역량대로 역사하는 곳간에 드리니 금이 육만 일천 다릭이요 은이 오천 마네요 제사장의 옷이 일백 벌이었더라

풀이: 그들은 저마다 힘닿는 대로 공사 기금에 보탰다. 금이 6만 1000다릭, 은이 5000마네, 제사장 예복이 100벌이었다.

They gave after their ability unto the treasure of the work threescore and one thousand drams of gold, and five thousand pound of silver, and one hundred priests’ garments.

이에 제사장들과 레위 사람들과 백성 몇과 노래하는 자들과 문지기들과 느디님 사람들이 그 본성들에 거하고 이스라엘 무리도 그 본성들에 거하였느니라

풀이: 이렇게 하여 제사장들과 레위 사람들, 백성 일부와 노래하는 이들, 문지기들과 성전 종들이 저마다 제 성읍에 자리 잡았고, 이스라엘 사람들도 모두 저마다 제 성읍에 자리 잡았다.

So the priests, and the Levites, and some of the people, and the singers, and the porters, and the Nethinims, dwelt in their cities, and all Israel in their cities.
