사도행전 4장

사도들이 백성에게 말할 때에 제사장들과 성전 맡은 자와 사두개인들이 이르러

풀이: 사도들이 백성에게 이렇게 이야기하고 있을 때, 제사장들과 성전 경비대장, 그리고 사두개인들이 들이닥쳤다.

And as they spake unto the people, the priests, and the captain of the temple, and the Sadducees, came upon them,

백성을 가르침과 예수를 들어 죽은자 가운데서 부활하는 도 전함을 싫어하여

풀이: 사도들이 백성을 가르치는 것도, 예수를 들어 죽은 자들의 부활을 전하는 것도 그들에게는 몹시 못마땅했다.

Being grieved that they taught the people, and preached through Jesus the resurrection from the dead.

저희를 잡으매 날이 이미 저문고로 이튿날까지 가두었으나

풀이: 그들은 두 사람을 붙잡았다. 날이 이미 저물었으므로 다음 날까지 가둬 두었다.

And they laid hands on them, and put them in hold unto the next day: for it was now eventide.

말씀을 들은 사람 중에 믿는 자가 많으니 남자의 수가 약 오천이나 되었더라

풀이: 그러나 그 말을 들은 사람들 가운데 믿게 된 이가 많아서, 남자만 헤아려도 약 5,000명에 이르렀다.

Howbeit many of them which heard the word believed; and the number of the men was about five thousand.

이튿날에 관원과 장로와 서기관들이 예루살렘에 모였는데

풀이: 다음 날, 백성의 지도자들과 장로들과 율법학자들이 예루살렘에 모였다.

And it came to pass on the morrow, that their rulers, and elders, and scribes,

대제사장 안나스와 가야바와 요한과 알렉산더와 및 대제사장의 문중이 다 참예하여

풀이: 대제사장 안나스를 비롯해 가야바와 요한과 알렉산더, 그리고 대제사장 가문에 속한 이들이 모두 한자리에 모였다.

And Annas the high priest, and Caiaphas, and John, and Alexander, and as many as were of the kindred of the high priest, were gathered together at Jerusalem.

사도들을 가운데 세우고 묻되 너희가 무슨 권세와 뉘 이름으로 이 일을 행하였느냐

풀이: 그들은 두 사람을 가운데 세워 두고 캐물었다. “너희가 무슨 힘으로, 누구의 이름으로 이 일을 했느냐?”

And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, By what power, or by what name, have ye done this?

이에 베드로가 성령이 충만하여 가로되 백성의 관원과 장로들아

풀이: 그러자 베드로가 성령으로 가득 차 말했다. “백성의 지도자들과 장로 여러분,

Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel,

만일 병인에게 행한 착한 일에 대하여 이 사람이 어떻게 구원을 얻었느냐고 오늘 우리에게 질문하면

풀이: 오늘 우리가 이렇게 심문을 받는 것이, 한 병자에게 베푼 선한 일과 그가 무엇으로 나았느냐를 따지려는 것이라면,

If we this day be examined of the good deed done to the impotent man, by what means he is made whole;

너희와 모든 이스라엘 백성들은 알라 너희가 십자가에 못 박고 하나님이 죽은자 가운데서 살리신 나사렛 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 이 사람이 건강하게 되어 너희 앞에 섰느니라

풀이: 여러분과 온 이스라엘 백성은 알아 두십시오. 여러분이 십자가에 못 박았으나 신이 죽은 자 가운데서 일으킨 그분, 나사렛 사람 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 이 사람이 성하게 되어 여러분 앞에 서 있는 것입니다.

Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.

이 예수는 너희 건축자들의 버린 돌로서 집 모퉁이의 머릿돌이 되었느니라

풀이: 이 예수가 바로, 집 짓는 여러분이 쓸모없다고 내버린 돌입니다. 그러나 그 돌이 마침내 모퉁이를 떠받치는 머릿돌이 되었습니다.

This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.

다른이로서는 구원을 얻을 수 없나니 천하 인간에 구원을 얻을만한 다른 이름을 우리에게 주신 일이 없음이니라 하였더라

풀이: 다른 누구에게도 구원은 없습니다. 하늘 아래 사람에게 주어진 이름 가운데, 우리를 구원할 다른 이름은 없습니다.”

Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

저희가 베드로와 요한이 기탄없이 말함을 보고 그 본래 학문 없는 범인으로 알았다가 이상히 여기며 또 그 전에 예수와 함께 있던 줄도 알고

풀이: 그들은 베드로와 요한이 거침없이 말하는 것을 보고 놀랐다. 본래 배운 것 없는 평범한 사람들인 줄 알았기 때문이다. 그러면서 이들이 예수와 함께 지내던 사람들임을 알아차렸다.

Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.

또 병 나은 사람이 그들과 함께 섰는 것을 보고 힐난할 말이 없는지라

풀이: 게다가 병이 나은 사람이 그들과 함께 서 있는 것을 보고는, 무어라 반박할 말이 없었다.

And beholding the man which was healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it.

명하여 공회에서 나가라 하고 서로 의논하여 가로되

풀이: 그래서 그들에게 공회에서 나가 있으라 명하고, 자기들끼리 의논했다.

But when they had commanded them to go aside out of the council, they conferred among themselves,

이 사람들을 어떻게 할꼬 저희로 인하여 유명한 표적 나타난 것이 예루살렘에 사는 모든 사람에게 알려졌으니 우리도 부인할 수 없는지라

풀이: “이 사람들을 어떻게 하지? 저들을 통해 누구나 아는 표적이 일어난 것을 예루살렘에 사는 모든 사람이 알고 있으니, 우리로서도 부인할 수가 없소.

Saying, What shall we do to these men? for that indeed a notable miracle hath been done by them is manifest to all them that dwell in Jerusalem; and we cannot deny it.

이것이 민간에 더 퍼지지 못하게 저희를 위협하여 이 후에는 이 이름으로 아무 사람에게도 말하지 말게 하자 하고

풀이: 다만 이 일이 백성 사이에 더 퍼지지 않도록, 앞으로는 그 이름으로 누구에게도 말하지 못하게 단단히 으름장을 놓읍시다.”

But that it spread no further among the people, let us straitly threaten them, that they speak henceforth to no man in this name.

그들을 불러 경계하여 도무지 예수의 이름으로 말하지도 말고 가르치지도 말라 하니

풀이: 그러고는 두 사람을 불러들여, 예수의 이름으로는 아예 입도 떼지 말고 가르치지도 말라고 명했다.

And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus.

베드로와 요한이 대답하여 가로되 하나님 앞에서 너희 말 듣는 것이 하나님 말씀 듣는 것보다 옳은가 판단하라

풀이: 그러나 베드로와 요한이 대답했다. “신 앞에서, 신보다 여러분의 말을 듣는 것이 과연 옳은 일인지 여러분 스스로 판단해 보십시오.

But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye.

우리는 보고 들은 것을 말하지 아니할 수 없다 하니

풀이: 우리는 보고 들은 것을 말하지 않을 수 없습니다.”

For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.

관원들이 백성을 인하여 저희를 어떻게 벌할 도리를 찾지 못하고 다시 위협하여 놓아 주었으니 이는 모든 사람이 그 된 일을 보고 하나님께 영광을 돌림이러라

풀이: 관원들은 그들을 벌할 마땅한 구실을 끝내 찾지 못하고, 다시 으름장을 놓고는 놓아주었다. 백성이 두려웠던 것이다. 사람들이 모두 그 일을 보고 신에게 영광을 돌리고 있었기 때문이다.

So when they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding nothing how they might punish them, because of the people: for all men glorified God for that which was done.

이 표적으로 병 나은 사람은 사십 여세나 되었더라

풀이: 이 치유의 표적이 일어난 그 사람은 나이가 40세를 넘긴 사람이었다.

For the man was above forty years old, on whom this miracle of healing was shewed.

사도들이 놓이매 그 동류에게 가서 제사장들과 장로들의 말을 다 고하니

풀이: 풀려난 두 사람은 자기 동료들에게 돌아가, 제사장들과 장로들이 한 말을 낱낱이 전했다.

And being let go, they went to their own company, and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said unto them.

저희가 듣고 일심으로 하나님께 소리를 높여 가로되 대주재여 천지와 바다와 그 가운데 만유를 지은 이시요

풀이: 그러자 그들은 한목소리로 신을 향해 외쳤다. “온 세상의 주권자시여! 하늘과 땅과 바다와 그 안의 모든 것을 지으신 분이시여,

And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, thou art God, which hast made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that in them is:

또 주의 종 우리 조상 다윗의 입을 의탁하사 성령으로 말씀하시기를 어찌하여 열방이 분노하며 족속들이 허사를 경영하였는고

풀이: 주의 종이자 우리 조상인 다윗의 입을 빌려 성령으로 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다. ‘어찌하여 뭇 민족이 미쳐 날뛰고, 백성들이 헛된 일을 꾸미는가?

Who by the mouth of thy servant David hast said, Why did the heathen rage, and the people imagine vain things?

세상의 군왕들이 나서며 관원들이 함께 모여 주와 그 그리스도를 대적하도다 하신 이로소이다

풀이: 세상의 왕들이 들고일어나고 통치자들이 한데 모여, 주와 그가 세운 그리스도를 거스른다.’ 바로 그 말씀대로입니다.

The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord, and against his Christ.

과연 헤롯과 본디오 빌라도는 이방인과 이스라엘 백성과 합동하여 하나님의 기름부으신 거룩한 종 예수를 거스려

풀이: 정말로 이 성에서, 헤롯과 본디오 빌라도가 이방 사람들과 이스라엘 백성과 한패가 되어, 신이 기름 부은 거룩한 종 예수를 거슬러 맞섰습니다.

For of a truth against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together,

하나님의 권능과 뜻대로 이루려고 예정하신 그것을 행하려고 이 성에 모였나이다

풀이: 그러나 그것은 신의 권능과 뜻이 미리 정해 둔 일을 그대로 이루는 것일 뿐이었습니다.

For to do whatsoever thy hand and thy counsel determined before to be done.

주여 이제도 저희의 위협함을 하감하옵시고 또 종들로 하여금 담대히 하나님의 말씀을 전하게 하여 주옵시며

풀이: 주여, 이제 저들의 으름장을 굽어살피시고, 종들이 조금도 거침없이 신의 말씀을 전하게 해 주십시오.

And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word,

손을 내밀어 병을 낫게 하옵시고 표적과 기사가 거룩한 종 예수의 이름으로 이루어지게 하옵소서 하더라

풀이: 손을 내밀어 병을 낫게 하시고, 거룩한 종 예수의 이름으로 표적과 놀라운 일이 일어나게 해 주십시오.”

By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus.

빌기를 다하매 모인 곳이 진동하더니 무리가 다 성령이 충만하여 담대히 하나님의 말씀을 전하니라

풀이: 기도를 마치자 그들이 모여 있던 곳이 뒤흔들렸다. 그리고 모두가 성령으로 가득 차, 거침없이 신의 말씀을 전했다.

And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.

믿는 무리가 한 마음과 한 뜻이 되어 모든 물건을 서로 통용하고 제 재물을 조금이라도 제 것이라 하는 이가 하나도 없더라

풀이: 믿게 된 사람들은 한마음 한뜻이 되었다. 아무도 자기 소유를 두고 제 것이라 하지 않았고, 모든 것을 함께 나누어 썼다.

And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.

사도들이 큰 권능으로 주 예수의 부활을 증거하니 무리가 큰 은혜를 얻어

풀이: 사도들은 큰 능력으로 주 예수의 부활을 증언했고, 그들 모두에게 큰 은혜가 넘쳤다.

And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.

그 중에 핍절한 사람이 없으니 이는 밭과 집 있는 자는 팔아 그 판 것의 값을 가져다가

풀이: 그들 가운데는 궁핍한 사람이 하나도 없었다. 땅이나 집을 가진 이들은 그것을 팔아, 판 값을 가져다가

Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold,

사도들의 발 앞에 두매 저희가 각 사람의 필요를 따라 나눠줌이러라

풀이: 사도들의 발 앞에 내려놓았고, 그것은 저마다의 필요에 따라 나누어졌다.

And laid them down at the apostles’ feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need.

구브로에서 난 레위족인이 있으니 이름은 요셉이라 사도들이 일컬어 바나바(번역하면 권위자)라 하니

풀이: 구브로 태생의 레위 사람으로 요셉이라는 이가 있었다. 사도들은 그를 바나바라 불렀는데, 번역하면 '위로의 아들'이라는 뜻이다.

And Joses, who by the apostles was surnamed Barnabas, (which is, being interpreted, The son of consolation,) a Levite, and of the country of Cyprus,

그가 밭이 있으매 팔아 값을 가지고 사도들의 발 앞에 두니라

풀이: 그가 가진 밭을 팔아, 그 돈을 가져다 사도들의 발 앞에 내려놓았다.

Having land, sold it, and brought the money, and laid it at the apostles’ feet.
