사사기 10장

아비멜렉의 후에 잇사갈 사람 도도의 손자 부아의 아들 돌라가 일어나서 이스라엘을 구원하니라 그가 에브라임 산지 사밀에 거하여

풀이: 아비멜렉의 시대가 끝난 뒤, 이스라엘을 지켜 낼 사람이 일어났다. 잇사갈 사람으로, 도도의 손자이며 부아의 아들인 돌라였다. 그는 에브라임 산지의 사밀에 자리를 잡고 살았다.

And after Abimelech there arose to defend Israel Tola the son of Puah, the son of Dodo, a man of Issachar; and he dwelt in Shamir in mount Ephraim.

이스라엘의 사사가 된지 이십 삼년만에 죽으매 사밀에 장사되었더라

풀이: 그는 23년 동안 이스라엘의 사사로 다스렸고, 죽어서 사밀에 묻혔다.

And he judged Israel twenty and three years, and died, and was buried in Shamir.

그 후에 길르앗 사람 야일이 일어나서 이십 이년 동안 이스라엘의 사사가 되니라

풀이: 그 뒤를 이어 길르앗 사람 야일이 일어나, 22년 동안 이스라엘의 사사가 되었다.

And after him arose Jair, a Gileadite, and judged Israel twenty and two years.

그에게 아들 삼십이 있어 어린 나귀 삼십을 탔고 성읍 삼십을 두었었는데 그 성들은 길르앗 땅에 있고 오늘까지 하봇야일이라 칭하더라

풀이: 그에게는 아들이 서른 명 있었다. 그들은 저마다 어린 나귀를 타고 다녔고, 성읍을 서른 개 거느렸다. 길르앗 땅에 있는 그 성읍들은 오늘날까지 하봇야일, 곧 '야일의 마을들'이라 불린다.

And he had thirty sons that rode on thirty ass colts, and they had thirty cities, which are called Havoth–jair unto this day, which are in the land of Gilead.

야일이 죽으매 가몬에 장사되었더라

풀이: 야일이 죽자 가몬에 묻혔다.

And Jair died, and was buried in Camon.

이스라엘 자손이 다시 여호와의 목전에 악을 행하여 바알들과 아스다롯과 아람의 신들과 시돈의 신들과 모압의 신들과 암몬 자손의 신들과 블레셋 사람의 신들을 섬기고 여호와를 버려 그를 섬기지 아니하므로

풀이: 이스라엘 자손은 또다시 신이 보기에 악한 일을 저질렀다. 바알 신들과 아스다롯 여신들, 아람의 신들과 시돈의 신들, 모압의 신들과 암몬 자손의 신들, 그리고 블레셋 사람의 신들을 섬겼다. 그렇게 신을 저버리고 그를 섬기지 않았다.

And the children of Israel did evil again in the sight of the Lord, and served Baalim, and Ashtaroth, and the gods of Syria, and the gods of Zidon, and the gods of Moab, and the gods of the children of Ammon, and the gods of the Philistines, and forsook the Lord, and served not him.

여호와께서 이스라엘에게 진노하사 블레셋 사람의 손과 암몬 자손의 손에 파시매

풀이: 그러자 신은 이스라엘에게 분노가 타올라, 그들을 블레셋 사람의 손과 암몬 자손의 손에 팔아넘겼다.

And the anger of the Lord was hot against Israel, and he sold them into the hands of the Philistines, and into the hands of the children of Ammon.

그들이 그 해부터 이스라엘 자손을 학대하니 요단 저편 길르앗 아모리 사람의 땅에 거한 이스라엘 자손이 십 팔년 동안 학대를 당하였고

풀이: 그들은 그 해부터 이스라엘 자손을 짓밟고 으스러뜨렸다. 요단 강 건너편, 아모리 사람의 땅인 길르앗에 살던 모든 이스라엘 자손이 18년 동안 학대를 당했다.

And that year they vexed and oppressed the children of Israel: eighteen years, all the children of Israel that were on the other side Jordan in the land of the Amorites, which is in Gilead.

암몬 자손이 또 요단을 건너서 유다와 베냐민과 에브라임 족속을 치므로 이스라엘의 곤고가 심하였더라

풀이: 게다가 암몬 자손은 요단 강을 건너와 유다와 베냐민과 에브라임 가문까지 쳤다. 그래서 이스라엘의 고통은 극에 달했다.

Moreover the children of Ammon passed over Jordan to fight also against Judah, and against Benjamin, and against the house of Ephraim; so that Israel was sore distressed.

이스라엘 자손이 여호와께 부르짖어 가로되 우리가 우리 하나님을 버리고 바알들을 섬김으로 주께 범죄하였나이다

풀이: 이스라엘 자손은 신에게 부르짖었다. "우리가 신을 저버리고 바알들을 섬겨, 당신께 죄를 지었습니다."

And the children of Israel cried unto the Lord, saying, We have sinned against thee, both because we have forsaken our God, and also served Baalim.

여호와께서 이스라엘 자손에게 이르시되 내가 애굽 사람과 아모리 사람과 암몬 자손과 블레셋 사람에게서 너희를 구원하지 아니하였느냐

풀이: 신이 이스라엘 자손에게 말했다. "내가 이집트 사람과 아모리 사람, 암몬 자손과 블레셋 사람의 손에서 너희를 건져 주지 않았느냐?

And the Lord said unto the children of Israel, Did not I deliver you from the Egyptians, and from the Amorites, from the children of Ammon, and from the Philistines?

또 시돈 사람과 아말렉 사람과 마온 사람이 너희를 압제할 때에 너희가 내게 부르짖으므로 내가 너희를 그들의 손에서 구원하였거늘

풀이: 시돈 사람과 아말렉 사람과 마온 사람이 너희를 짓누를 때에도, 너희가 내게 부르짖기에 내가 그들의 손에서 너희를 구해 냈다.

The Zidonians also, and the Amalekites, and the Maonites, did oppress you; and ye cried to me, and I delivered you out of their hand.

너희가 나를 버리고 다른 신들을 섬기니 그러므로 내가 다시는 너희를 구원치 아니하리라

풀이: 그런데도 너희는 나를 저버리고 다른 신들을 섬겼다. 그러므로 나는 다시는 너희를 구원하지 않겠다.

Yet ye have forsaken me, and served other gods: wherefore I will deliver you no more.

가서 너희가 택한 신들에게 부르짖어서 너희 환난 때에 그들로 너희를 구원하게 하라

풀이: 가서 너희가 골라잡은 그 신들에게 부르짖어라. 너희가 곤경에 빠진 그때에 그들더러 너희를 구원하게 하여라."

Go and cry unto the gods which ye have chosen; let them deliver you in the time of your tribulation.

이스라엘 자손이 여호와께 여짜오되 우리가 범죄하였사오니 주의 보시기에 좋은대로 우리에게 행하시려니와 오직 주께 구하옵나니 오늘날 우리를 건져내옵소서 하고

풀이: 이스라엘 자손이 신에게 말했다. "우리가 죄를 지었습니다. 당신 보시기에 좋을 대로 우리에게 하십시오. 다만 오늘 우리를 건져 주시기를 빕니다."

And the children of Israel said unto the Lord, We have sinned: do thou unto us whatsoever seemeth good unto thee; deliver us only, we pray thee, this day.

자기 가운데서 이방 신들을 제하여 버리고 여호와를 섬기매 여호와께서 이스라엘의 곤고를 인하여 마음에 근심하시니라

풀이: 그러고는 자기들 가운데서 이방의 신들을 치워 버리고 신을 섬겼다. 그러자 신은 이스라엘이 겪는 고통에 더는 견디지 못하고 마음이 짧아졌다.

And they put away the strange gods from among them, and served the Lord: and his soul was grieved for the misery of Israel.

그 때에 암몬 자손이 모여서 길르앗에 진 쳤으므로 이스라엘 자손도 모여서 미스바에 진 치고

풀이: 그 무렵 암몬 자손이 모여 길르앗에 진을 쳤다. 이스라엘 자손도 모여 미스바에 진을 쳤다.

Then the children of Ammon were gathered together, and encamped in Gilead. And the children of Israel assembled themselves together, and encamped in Mizpeh.

길르앗 백성과 방백들이 서로 이르되 누가 먼저 나가서 암몬 자손과 싸움을 시작할꼬 그가 길르앗 모든 거민의 머리가 되리라 하니라

풀이: 길르앗의 백성과 지도자들이 서로 말했다. "누가 먼저 나가 암몬 자손과 싸움을 시작하겠는가? 그가 길르앗의 모든 주민을 다스리는 우두머리가 될 것이다."

And the people and princes of Gilead said one to another, What man is he that will begin to fight against the children of Ammon? he shall be head over all the inhabitants of Gilead.
