여호수아 15장

유다 자손의 지파가 그 가족대로 제비 뽑은 땅의 극남단은 에돔 지경에 이르고 또 남으로 신 광야까지라

풀이: 유다 자손 지파가 제비를 뽑아 받은 땅은 가문별로 이러하다. 그 땅의 맨 남쪽 끝은 에돔 경계에 닿았고, 더 남쪽으로는 신 광야까지 뻗었다.

This then was the lot of the tribe of the children of Judah by their families; even to the border of Edom the wilderness of Zin southward was the uttermost part of the south coast.

그 남편 경계는 염해의 극단 곧 남향한 해만에서부터

풀이: 남쪽 경계는 소금바다(사해)의 끝, 남쪽으로 뻗은 만에서 시작한다.

And their south border was from the shore of the salt sea, from the bay that looketh southward:

아그랍빔 비탈 남편으로 지나 신에 이르고 가데스 바네아 남편으로 올라가서 헤스론을 지나며 아달로 올라가서 돌이켜 갈가에 이르고

풀이: 거기서 아그랍빔 비탈 남쪽을 지나 신으로 나아가고, 가데스 바네아 남쪽으로 올라간 뒤 헤스론을 지나 아달로 올라갔다가, 방향을 틀어 갈가에 이른다.

And it went out to the south side to Maaleh–acrabbim, and passed along to Zin, and ascended up on the south side unto Kadesh–barnea, and passed along to Hezron, and went up to Adar, and fetched a compass to Karkaa:

거기서 아스몬에 이르고 애굽 시내에 미치며 바다에 이르러 경계의 끝이 되나니 이것이 너희 남편 경계가 되리라

풀이: 거기서 다시 아스몬을 지나 애굽 시내(와디)에 닿고, 마침내 바다에 이르러 끝난다. 이것이 너희 남쪽 경계다.

From thence it passed toward Azmon, and went out unto the river of Egypt; and the goings out of that coast were at the sea: this shall be your south coast.

그 동편 경계는 염해니 요단 끝까지요 그 북편 경계는 요단 끝에 당한 해만에서부터

풀이: 동쪽 경계는 소금바다이며, 요단강이 흘러드는 끝까지다. 북쪽 경계는 요단강 끝에 닿은 바다의 만에서 시작한다.

And the east border was the salt sea, even unto the end of Jordan. And their border in the north quarter was from the bay of the sea at the uttermost part of Jordan:

벧호글라로 올라가서 벧 아라바 북편을 지나 르우벤 자손 보한의 돌에 이르고

풀이: 거기서 벧호글라로 올라가 벧아라바 북쪽을 지나고, 르우벤의 아들 보한의 돌까지 이른다.

And the border went up to Beth–hogla, and passed along by the north of Beth–arabah; and the border went up to the stone of Bohan the son of Reuben:

또 아골 골짜기에서부터 드빌을 지나 북으로 올라가서 강 남편에 있는 아둠밈 비탈 맞은편 길갈을 향하고 나아가 엔 세메스 물을 지나 엔로겔에 이르며

풀이: 또 아골 골짜기에서 드빌을 지나 북으로 올라가, 골짜기 남쪽의 아둠밈 비탈 맞은편 길갈을 향해 나아간다. 그러고는 엔세메스 샘물을 지나 엔로겔에 닿는다.

And the border went up toward Debir from the valley of Achor, and so northward, looking toward Gilgal, that is before the going up to Adummim, which is on the south side of the river: and the border passed toward the waters of En–shemesh, and the goings out thereof were at En–rogel:

또 힌놈의 아들의 골짜기로 올라가서 여부스 곧 예루살렘 남편 어깨에 이르며 또 힌놈의 골짜기 앞 서편에 있는 산 꼭대기로 올라가나니 이곳은 르바임 골짜기 북편 끝이며

풀이: 또 힌놈의 아들의 골짜기를 따라 올라가, 여부스 — 곧 예루살렘 — 의 남쪽 등성이에 이른다. 다시 힌놈 골짜기 서쪽 앞에 솟은 산꼭대기로 올라가는데, 이곳은 르바임 골짜기 북쪽 끝이다.

And the border went up by the valley of the son of Hinnom unto the south side of the Jebusite; the same is Jerusalem: and the border went up to the top of the mountain that lieth before the valley of Hinnom westward, which is at the end of the valley of the giants northward:

또 이 산 꼭대기에서부터 넵도아 샘물까지 이르러 에브론산 성읍들에 미치고 또 바알라 곧 기럇 여아림에 미치며

풀이: 또 그 산꼭대기에서 넵도아 샘물까지 이어져 에브론산의 성읍들에 닿고, 다시 바알라 — 곧 기럇여아림 — 까지 이른다.

And the border was drawn from the top of the hill unto the fountain of the water of Nephtoah, and went out to the cities of mount Ephron; and the border was drawn to Baalah, which is Kirjath–jearim:

또 바알라에서부터 서편으로 돌이켜 세일산에 이르러 여아림 산 곧 그살론 곁 북편에 이르고 또 벧 세메스로 내려가서 딤나로 지나고

풀이: 바알라에서 서쪽으로 돌아 세일산에 이르고, 여아림산 — 곧 그살론 — 북쪽 기슭을 지나 벧세메스로 내려가 딤나를 지난다.

And the border compassed from Baalah westward unto mount Seir, and passed along unto the side of mount Jearim, which is Chesalon, on the north side, and went down to Beth–shemesh, and passed on to Timnah:

또 에그론 북편으로 나아가 식그론에 이르러 바알라산에 미치고 얍느엘에 이르나니 그 끝은 바다며

풀이: 또 에그론 북쪽으로 나아가 식그론에 이르고, 바알라산을 지나 얍느엘에 닿는다. 그 끝은 바다다.

And the border went out unto the side of Ekron northward: and the border was drawn to Shicron, and passed along to mount Baalah, and went out unto Jabneel; and the goings out of the border were at the sea.

서편 경계는 대해와 그 해변이니 유다 자손이 그 가족대로 얻은 사면 경계가 이러하니라

풀이: 서쪽 경계는 대해, 곧 지중해와 그 해안선이다. 이것이 유다 자손이 가문별로 받은 땅의 사방 경계다.

And the west border was to the great sea, and the coast thereof. This is the coast of the children of Judah round about according to their families.

여호와께서 여호수아에게 명하신대로 여호수아가 기럇 아르바 곧 헤브론 성을 유다 자손 중에서 분깃으로 여분네의 아들 갈렙에게 주었으니 아르바는 아낙의 아비였더라

풀이: 신이 여호수아에게 명한 대로, 여호수아는 유다 자손의 땅 가운데 한 몫을 여분네의 아들 갈렙에게 떼어 주었다. 기럇아르바 — 곧 헤브론 — 이었다. 아르바는 아낙의 조상이었다.

And unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a part among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of the Lord to Joshua, even the city of Arba the father of Anak, which city is Hebron.

갈렙이 거기서 아낙의 소생 곧 그 세 아들 세새와 아히만과 달매를 쫓아내었고

풀이: 갈렙은 거기서 아낙의 자손 셋 — 세새, 아히만, 달매 — 을 몰아냈다.

And Caleb drove thence the three sons of Anak, Sheshai, and Ahiman, and Talmai, the children of Anak.

거기서 올라가서 드빌 거민을 쳤는데 드빌의 본 이름은 기럇 세벨이라

풀이: 그러고는 거기서 드빌 주민을 치러 올라갔다. 드빌의 본래 이름은 기럇세벨이었다.

And he went up thence to the inhabitants of Debir: and the name of Debir before was Kirjath–sepher.

갈렙이 말하기를 기럇 세벨을 쳐서 그것을 취하는 자에게는 내가 내 딸 악사를 아내로 주리라 하였더니

풀이: 갈렙이 말했다. "기럇세벨을 쳐서 함락하는 자에게 내 딸 악사를 아내로 주겠다."

And Caleb said, He that smiteth Kirjath–sepher, and taketh it, to him will I give Achsah my daughter to wife.

갈렙의 아우요 그나스의 아들인 옷니엘이 그것을 취함으로 갈렙이 그 딸 악사를 그에게 아내로 주었더라

풀이: 갈렙의 아우 그나스의 아들 옷니엘이 그 성을 함락했다. 그래서 갈렙은 딸 악사를 그에게 아내로 주었다.

And Othniel the son of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb, took it: and he gave him Achsah his daughter to wife.

악사가 출가할 때에 그에게 청하여 자기 아비에게 밭을 구하자 하고 나귀에서 내리매 갈렙이 그에게 묻되 네가 무엇을 원하느냐

풀이: 악사가 시집가던 날, 그는 남편을 설득해 아버지에게 밭을 요구하게 했다. 그러고는 타고 온 나귀에서 내렸다. 갈렙이 물었다. "무슨 일이냐?"

And it came to pass, as she came unto him, that she moved him to ask of her father a field: and she lighted off her ass; and Caleb said unto her, What wouldest thou?

가로되 내게 복을 주소서 아버지께서 나를 남방 땅으로 보내시오니 샘물도 내게 주소서 하매 갈렙이 윗샘과 아랫샘을 그에게 주었더라

풀이: 악사가 대답했다. "제게 복을 주십시오. 아버지께서 저를 메마른 남쪽 땅으로 보내시니, 샘물도 함께 주십시오." 그러자 갈렙은 윗샘과 아랫샘을 그에게 주었다.

Who answered, Give me a blessing; for thou hast given me a south land; give me also springs of water. And he gave her the upper springs, and the nether springs.

유다 자손의 지파가 그 가족대로 얻은 기업은 이러하니라

풀이: 이것이 유다 자손 지파가 가문별로 받은 몫이다.

This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Judah according to their families.

유다 자손의 지파의 남으로 에돔 경계에 접근한 성읍들은 갑스엘과 에델과 야굴과

풀이: 유다 자손 지파가 남쪽으로 에돔 경계에 가까이 받은 성읍들은 다음과 같다. 갑스엘, 에델, 야굴,

And the uttermost cities of the tribe of the children of Judah toward the coast of Edom southward were Kabzeel, and Eder, and Jagur,

기나와 디모나와 아다다와

풀이: 기나, 디모나, 아다다,

And Kinah, and Dimonah, and Adadah,

게데스와 하솔과 잇난과

풀이: 게데스, 하솔, 잇난,

And Kedesh, and Hazor, and Ithnan,

십과 델렘과 브알롯과

Ziph, and Telem, and Bealoth,

하솔 하닷다와 그리욧 헤스론 곧 하솔과

And Hazor, Hadattah, and Kerioth, and Hezron, which is Hazor,

아맘과 세마와 몰라다와

And Hazar–gaddah, and Heshmon, and Beth–palet,

바알라와 이임과 에셈과

Baalah, and Iim, and Azem,

엘돌랏과 그실과 홀마와

풀이: 엘돌랏, 그실, 홀마,

And Eltolad, and Chesil, and Hormah,

시글락과 맛만나와 산산나와 르바옷과

풀이: 시글락, 맛만나, 산산나,

And Ziklag, and Madmannah, and Sansannah,

실힘과 아인과 림몬이니 모두 이십 구 성읍이요 또 그 촌락이었으며

풀이: 르바옷, 실힘, 아인, 림몬. 모두 29개 성읍과 그 딸린 촌락이다.

And Lebaoth, and Shilhim, and Ain, and Rimmon: all the cities are twenty and nine, with their villages:

평지에는 에스다올과 소라와 아스나와

풀이: 평지(셰펠라)에는 에스다올, 소라, 아스나,

And in the valley, Eshtaol, and Zoreah, and Ashnah,

사노아와 엔간님과 답부아와 에남과

풀이: 사노아, 엔간님, 답부아, 에남,

And Zanoah, and En–gannim, Tappuah, and Enam,

야르뭇과 아둘람과 소고와 아세가와

풀이: 야르뭇, 아둘람, 소고, 아세가,

Jarmuth, and Adullam, Socoh, and Azekah,

사아라임과 아디다임과 그데라와 그데로다임이니 모두 십 사 성읍이요 또 그 촌락이었으며

And Sharaim, and Adithaim, and Gederah, and Gederothaim; fourteen cities with their villages:

스난과 하다사와 믹달갓과

Zenan, and Hadashah, and Migdal–gad,

딜르안과 미스베와 욕드엘과

풀이: 딜르안, 미스베, 욕드엘,

And Dilean, and Mizpeh, and Joktheel,

라기스와 보스갓과 에글론과

Lachish, and Bozkath, and Eglon,

갑본과 라맘과 기들리스와

And Cabbon, and Lahmam, and Kithlish,

그데롯과 벧다곤과 나아마와 막게다니 모두 십 륙 성읍이요 또 그 촌락이었으며

And Gederoth, Beth–dagon, and Naamah, and Makkedah; sixteen cities with their villages:

립나와 에델과 아산과

Libnah, and Ether, and Ashan,

입다와 아스나와 느십과

풀이: 입다, 아스나, 느십,

And Jiphtah, and Ashnah, and Nezib,

그일라와 악십과 마레사니 모두 아홉 성읍이요 또 그 촌락이었으며

풀이: 그일라, 악십, 마레사. 모두 9개 성읍과 그 딸린 촌락이다.

And Keilah, and Achzib, and Mareshah; nine cities with their villages:

에그론과 그 향리와 촌락과

풀이: 에그론과 그에 딸린 읍과 촌락,

Ekron, with her towns and her villages:

에그론에서부터 바다까지 아스돗 곁에 있는 모든 성읍과 그 촌락이었으며

풀이: 에그론에서 바다까지, 아스돗 곁에 있는 모든 성읍과 그 촌락이다.

From Ekron even unto the sea, all that lay near Ashdod, with their villages:

아스돗과 그 향리와 촌락과 가사와 그 향리와 촌락이니 애굽 시내와 대해 가에 이르기까지였으며

풀이: 아스돗과 그에 딸린 읍과 촌락, 가사와 그에 딸린 읍과 촌락. 애굽 시내(와디)와 대해 가에 이르기까지였다.

Ashdod with her towns and her villages, Gaza with her towns and her villages, unto the river of Egypt, and the great sea, and the border thereof:

산지는 사밀과 얏딜과 소고와

풀이: 산지에는 사밀, 얏딜, 소고,

And in the mountains, Shamir, and Jattir, and Socoh,

단나와 기럇 산나 곧 드빌과

풀이: 단나, 기럇산나 — 곧 드빌 — ,

And Dannah, and Kirjath–sannah, which is Debir,

아납과 에스드모와 아님과

풀이: 아납, 에스드모, 아님,

And Anab, and Eshtemoh, and Anim,

고센과 홀론과 길로니 모두 십 일 성읍이요 또 그 촌락이었으며

풀이: 고센, 홀론, 길로. 모두 11개 성읍과 그 딸린 촌락이다.

And Goshen, and Holon, and Giloh; eleven cities with their villages:

아랍과 두마와 에산과

Arab, and Dumah, and Eshean,

야님과 벧 답부아와 아베가와

풀이: 야님, 벧답부아, 아베가,

And Janum, and Beth–tappuah, and Aphekah,

훔다와 기럇 아르바 곧 헤브론과 시올이니 모두 아홉 성읍이요 또 그 촌락이었으며

풀이: 훔다, 기럇아르바 — 곧 헤브론 — , 시올. 모두 9개 성읍과 그 딸린 촌락이다.

And Humtah, and Kirjath–arba, which is Hebron, and Zior; nine cities with their villages:

마온과 갈멜과 십과 윳다와

Maon, Carmel, and Ziph, and Juttah,

이스르엘과 욕드암과 사노아와

풀이: 이스르엘, 욕드암, 사노아,

And Jezreel, and Jokdeam, and Zanoah,

가인과 기브아와 딤나니 모두 열 성읍이요 또 그 촌락이었으며

풀이: 가인, 기브아, 딤나. 모두 10개 성읍과 그 딸린 촌락이다.

Cain, Gibeah, and Timnah; ten cities with their villages:

할훌과 벧 술과 그돌과

풀이: 할훌, 벧술, 그돌,

Halhul, Beth–zur, and Gedor,

마아랏과 벧 아놋과 엘드곤이니 모두 여섯 성읍이요 또 그 촌락이었으며

풀이: 마아랏, 벧아놋, 엘드곤. 모두 6개 성읍과 그 딸린 촌락이다.

And Maarath, and Beth–anoth, and Eltekon; six cities with their villages:

기럇 바알 곧 기럇 여아림과 라빠니 모두 두 성읍이요 또 그 촌락이었으며

풀이: 기럇바알 — 곧 기럇여아림 — , 그리고 라빠. 모두 2개 성읍과 그 딸린 촌락이다.

Kirjath–baal, which is Kirjath–jearim, and Rabbah; two cities with their villages:

광야에는 벧 아라바와 밋딘과 스가가와

풀이: 광야에는 벧아라바, 밋딘, 스가가,

In the wilderness, Beth–arabah, Middin, and Secacah,

닙산과 염성과 엔 게디니 모두 여섯 성읍이요 또 그 촌락이었더라

풀이: 닙산, 염성(소금성읍), 엔게디. 모두 6개 성읍과 그 딸린 촌락이다.

And Nibshan, and the city of Salt, and En–gedi; six cities with their villages.

예루살렘 거민 여부스 사람을 유다 자손이 쫓아내지 못하였으므로 여부스 사람이 오늘날까지 유다 자손과 함께 예루살렘에 거하니라

풀이: 다만 예루살렘에 살던 여부스 사람만큼은 유다 자손이 끝내 몰아내지 못했다. 그래서 여부스 사람은 오늘날까지 유다 자손과 함께 예루살렘에 살고 있다.

As for the Jebusites the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the children of Judah could not drive them out: but the Jebusites dwell with the children of Judah at Jerusalem unto this day.
