역대하 36장

국민이 요시야의 아들 여호아하스를 세워 그 부친을 대신하여 예루살렘에서 왕을 삼으니

풀이: 그 땅의 백성이 요시야의 아들 여호아하스를 데려다, 아버지를 이어 예루살렘에서 왕으로 세웠다.

Then the people of the land took Jehoahaz the son of Josiah, and made him king in his father’s stead in Jerusalem.

여호아하스가 위에 나아갈 때에 나이 이십 삼세더라 저가 예루살렘에서 치리한지 석달에

풀이: 여호아하스는 왕위에 오를 때 나이가 23세였고, 예루살렘에서 다스린 기간은 석 달뿐이었다.

Jehoahaz was twenty and three years old when he began to reign, and he reigned three months in Jerusalem.

애굽 왕이 예루살렘에서 그 위를 폐하고 또 그 나라로 은 일백 달란트와 금 한 달란트를 벌금으로 내게하며

풀이: 이집트 왕이 예루살렘에서 그를 왕좌에서 끌어내리고, 그 나라에 벌금으로 은 100달란트와 금 1달란트를 물렸다.

And the king of Egypt put him down at Jerusalem, and condemned the land in an hundred talents of silver and a talent of gold.

애굽 왕 느고가 또 그 형제 엘리아김을 세워 유다와 예루살렘 왕을 삼고 그 이름을 고쳐 여호야김이라 하고 그 형제 여호아하스를 애굽으로 잡아 갔더라

풀이: 이집트 왕 느고는 여호아하스의 형제 엘리아김을 유다와 예루살렘의 왕으로 세우고, 그 이름을 여호야김으로 바꾸었다. 그러고는 여호아하스를 이집트로 끌고 갔다.

And the king of Egypt made Eliakim his brother king over Judah and Jerusalem, and turned his name to Jehoiakim. And Necho took Jehoahaz his brother, and carried him to Egypt.

여호야김이 위에 나아갈 때에 나이 이십 오세라 예루살렘에서 십일년을 치리하며 그 하나님 여호와 보시기에 악을 행하였더라

풀이: 여호야김은 왕위에 오를 때 나이가 25세였고, 예루살렘에서 11년을 다스렸다. 그는 자기 신이 보기에 악한 일을 저질렀다.

Jehoiakim was twenty and five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem: and he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord his God.

바벨론 왕 느부갓네살이 올라와서 치고 저를 쇠사슬로 결박하여 바벨론으로 잡아가고

풀이: 바빌론 왕 느부갓네살이 쳐들어와 그를 놋쇠 사슬로 결박해 바빌론으로 끌고 가려 했다.

Against him came up Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and bound him in fetters, to carry him to Babylon.

느부갓네살이 또 여호와의 전 기구들을 바벨론으로 가져다가 바벨론에 있는 자기 신당에 두었더라

풀이: 느부갓네살은 신의 성전 기물들도 함께 바빌론으로 가져가, 자기 신전에 두었다.

Nebuchadnezzar also carried of the vessels of the house of the Lord to Babylon, and put them in his temple at Babylon.

여호야김의 남은 사적과 그 행한 모든 가증한 일과 그 심술이 이스라엘과 유다 열왕기에 기록되니라 그 아들 여호야긴이 대신하여 왕이 되니라

풀이: 여호야김이 남긴 나머지 행적과 그가 저지른 온갖 역겨운 짓, 그리고 그에게서 드러난 일들은 이스라엘과 유다 왕들의 기록에 적혀 있다. 그의 아들 여호야긴이 뒤를 이어 왕이 되었다.

Now the rest of the acts of Jehoiakim, and his abominations which he did, and that which was found in him, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah: and Jehoiachin his son reigned in his stead.

여호야긴이 위에 나아갈 때에 나이 팔세라 예루살렘에서 석달 열흘을 치리하며 여호와 보시기에 악을 행하였더라

풀이: 여호야긴은 왕위에 오를 때 나이가 8세였고, 예루살렘에서 석 달 열흘을 다스렸다. 그도 신이 보기에 악한 일을 저질렀다.

Jehoiachin was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned three months and ten days in Jerusalem: and he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord.

세초에 느부갓네살이 보내어 여호야긴을 바벨론으로 잡아가고 여호와의 전의 귀한 기구도 함께 가져가고 그 아자비 시드기야를 세워 유다와 예루살렘 왕을 삼았더라

풀이: 해가 바뀌자 느부갓네살이 사람을 보내 여호야긴을 바빌론으로 끌고 갔다. 신의 성전에 있던 값진 기물들도 함께 가져갔다. 그러고는 여호야긴의 숙부 시드기야를 유다와 예루살렘의 왕으로 세웠다.

And when the year was expired, king Nebuchadnezzar sent, and brought him to Babylon, with the goodly vessels of the house of the Lord, and made Zedekiah his brother king over Judah and Jerusalem.

시드기야가 위에 나아갈 때에 나이 이십 일세라 예루살렘에서 십 일년을 치리하며

풀이: 시드기야는 왕위에 오를 때 나이가 21세였고, 예루살렘에서 11년을 다스렸다.

Zedekiah was one and twenty years old when he began to reign, and reigned eleven years in Jerusalem.

그 하나님 여호와 보시기에 악을 행하고 선지자 예레미야가 여호와의 말씀으로 일러도 그의 앞에서 겸비치 아니하였으며

풀이: 그는 자기 신이 보기에 악한 일을 저질렀고, 예언자 예레미야가 신의 말을 전해도 그 앞에서 자신을 낮추지 않았다.

And he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord his God, and humbled not himself before Jeremiah the prophet speaking from the mouth of the Lord.

느부갓네살왕이 저로 그 하나님을 가리켜 맹세케 하였으나 저가 배반하고 목을 곧게 하며 마음을 강퍅케 하여 이스라엘 하나님 여호와께로 돌아오지 아니하였고

풀이: 그는 또 느부갓네살에게 등을 돌렸다. 느부갓네살이 신을 두고 충성을 맹세하게 했는데도 그것을 깨뜨린 것이다. 그는 목을 뻣뻣이 세우고 마음을 굳게 닫아, 이스라엘의 신에게로 돌아서지 않았다.

And he also rebelled against king Nebuchadnezzar, who had made him swear by God: but he stiffened his neck, and hardened his heart from turning unto the Lord God of Israel.

제사장의 어른들과 백성도 크게 범죄하여 이방 모든 가증한 일을 본받아서 여호와께서 예루살렘에 거룩하게 두신 그 전을 더럽게 하였으며

풀이: 제사장의 우두머리들과 백성까지도 크게 죄를 지어, 주변 이방 민족들의 온갖 역겨운 풍습을 그대로 따라 했다. 그렇게 그들은 신이 예루살렘에서 거룩하게 구별해 둔 그 성전을 더럽혔다.

Moreover all the chief of the priests, and the people, transgressed very much after all the abominations of the heathen; and polluted the house of the Lord which he had hallowed in Jerusalem.

그 열조의 하나님 여호와께서 그 백성과 그 거하시는 곳을 아끼사 부지런히 그 사자들을 그 백성에게 보내어 이르셨으나

풀이: 조상들의 신은 자기 백성과 자신이 머무는 곳을 아껴, 거듭거듭 사자들을 보내 그들에게 일렀다.

And the Lord God of their fathers sent to them by his messengers, rising up betimes, and sending; because he had compassion on his people, and on his dwelling place:

그 백성이 하나님의 사자를 비웃고 말씀을 멸시하며 그 선지자를 욕하여 여호와의 진노로 그 백성에게 미쳐서 만회할 수 없게 하였으므로

풀이: 그러나 백성은 신의 사자들을 비웃고, 그 말을 멸시하고, 그 예언자들을 조롱했다. 끝내 신의 분노가 백성을 향해 타올라, 더는 손쓸 길이 없는 지경에 이르렀다.

But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and misused his prophets, until the wrath of the Lord arose against his people, till there was no remedy.

하나님이 갈대아 왕의 손에 저희를 다 붙이시매 저가 와서 그 성전에서 칼로 청년을 죽이며 청년 남녀와 노인과 백발노옹을 긍휼히 여기지 아니하였으며

풀이: 그리하여 신은 그들을 갈대아 왕의 손에 넘겼다. 갈대아 왕은 들이닥쳐 그들의 성소 안에서 젊은이들을 칼로 베었고, 젊은 남녀도 노인도 백발의 늙은이도 가리지 않았다. 신은 그들 모두를 그의 손에 넘긴 것이다.

Therefore he brought upon them the king of the Chaldees, who slew their young men with the sword in the house of their sanctuary, and had no compassion upon young man or maiden, old man, or him that stooped for age: he gave them all into his hand.

또 하나님의 전의 대소 기명들과 여호와의 전의 보물과 왕과 방백들의 보물을 다 바벨론으로 가져가고

풀이: 갈대아 왕은 신의 성전에 있던 크고 작은 기물 전부와, 성전의 보물과, 왕과 신하들의 보물까지 모조리 바빌론으로 가져갔다.

And all the vessels of the house of God, great and small, and the treasures of the house of the Lord, and the treasures of the king, and of his princes; all these he brought to Babylon.

또 하나님의 전을 불사르며 예루살렘 성을 헐며 그 모든 궁실을 불사르며 그 모든 귀한 기명을 훼파하고

풀이: 그들은 신의 성전을 불사르고, 예루살렘 성벽을 헐고, 모든 궁궐을 불태우고, 값진 기물을 모두 부숴 버렸다.

And they burnt the house of God, and brake down the wall of Jerusalem, and burnt all the palaces thereof with fire, and destroyed all the goodly vessels thereof.

무릇 칼에서 벗어난 자를 저가 바벨론으로 사로잡아가매 무리가 거기서 갈대아 왕과 그 자손의 노예가 되어 바사국이 주재할 때까지 이르니라

풀이: 칼을 피해 살아남은 자들은 바빌론으로 끌려가, 페르시아 왕국이 일어설 때까지 그곳에서 갈대아 왕과 그 자손의 종으로 지냈다.

And them that had escaped from the sword carried he away to Babylon; where they were servants to him and his sons until the reign of the kingdom of Persia:

이에 토지가 황무하여 안식년을 누림 같이 안식하여 칠십년을 지내었으니 여호와께서 예레미야의 입으로 하신 말씀이 응하였더라

풀이: 이로써 예레미야의 입을 통해 전해진 신의 말이 이루어졌다. 땅이 마침내 밀린 안식을 누릴 때까지, 곧 황폐한 채로 70년이 차도록, 그 땅은 안식했다.

To fulfil the word of the Lord by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had enjoyed her sabbaths: for as long as she lay desolate she kept sabbath, to fulfil threescore and ten years.

바사 왕 고레스 원년에 여호와께서 예레미야의 입으로 하신 말씀을 응하게 하시려고 바사 왕 고레스의 마음을 감동시키시매 저가 온 나라에 공포도 하고 조서도 내려 가로되

풀이: 페르시아 왕 고레스 원년, 예레미야의 입을 통해 전해진 신의 말을 이루려고, 신은 페르시아 왕 고레스의 마음을 움직였다. 그러자 고레스는 온 나라에 다음과 같이 선포하고 또 글로 적어 내렸다.

Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the Lord spoken by the mouth of Jeremiah might be accomplished, the Lord stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying,

바사 왕 고레스는 말하노니 하늘의 신 여호와께서 세상 만국으로 내게 주셨고 나를 명하여 유다 예루살렘에 전을 건축하라 하셨나니 너희 중에 무릇 그 백성 된 자는 다 올라갈찌어다 너희 하나님 여호와께서 함께하시기를 원하노라 하였더라

풀이: "페르시아 왕 고레스가 말한다. 하늘의 신이 세상 모든 나라를 내게 주었고, 나에게 유다 예루살렘에 그의 성전을 지으라 명했다. 너희 가운데 그의 백성 된 자는 누구든 그리로 올라가라. 그의 신이 함께하기를 빈다."

Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, All the kingdoms of the earth hath the Lord God of heaven given me; and he hath charged me to build him an house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Who is there among you of all his people? The Lord his God be with him, and let him go up.
