다니엘 2장

느부갓네살이 위에 있은지 이년에 꿈을 꾸고 그로 인하여 마음이 번민하여 잠을 이루지 못한지라

풀이: 느부갓네살이 왕위에 오른 지 2년째 되던 해, 그는 꿈을 꾸었다. 그 꿈 때문에 마음이 뒤숭숭해져 도무지 잠을 이룰 수 없었다.

And in the second year of the reign of Nebuchadnezzar Nebuchadnezzar dreamed dreams, wherewith his spirit was troubled, and his sleep brake from him.

왕이 그 꿈을 자기에게 고하게 하려고 명하여 박수와 술객과 점장이와 갈대아 술사를 부르매 그들이 들어와서 왕의 앞에 선지라

풀이: 왕은 그 꿈이 무엇인지 알아내려고, 마술사와 주술사와 점쟁이와 갈대아의 술사들을 불러들이라 명했다. 그들은 들어와 왕 앞에 섰다.

Then the king commanded to call the magicians, and the astrologers, and the sorcerers, and the Chaldeans, for to shew the king his dreams. So they came and stood before the king.

왕이 그들에게 이르되 내가 꿈을 꾸고 그 꿈을 알고자하여 마음이 번민하도다

풀이: 왕이 그들에게 말했다. "내가 꿈을 하나 꾸었는데, 그게 무슨 꿈인지 알고 싶어 마음이 편치 않다."

And the king said unto them, I have dreamed a dream, and my spirit was troubled to know the dream.

갈대아 술사들이 아람 방언으로 왕에게 말하되 왕이여 만세수를 하옵소서 왕은 그 꿈을 종들에게 이르시면 우리가 해석하여 드리겠나이다

풀이: 그러자 갈대아 술사들이 아람 말로 왕에게 아뢰었다. "왕이시여, 만수무강하소서. 그 꿈을 종들에게 말씀해 주시면, 저희가 풀어 드리겠습니다."

Then spake the Chaldeans to the king in Syriack, O king, live for ever: tell thy servants the dream, and we will shew the interpretation.

왕이 갈대아 술사에게 대답하여 가로되 내가 명령을 내렸나니 너희가 만일 꿈과 그 해석을 나로 알게 하지 아니하면 너희 몸을 쪼갤 것이며 너희 집으로 거름터를 삼을 것이요

풀이: 왕이 갈대아 술사들에게 대답했다. "내 뜻은 이미 정해졌다. 너희가 그 꿈과 해석을 둘 다 알려 주지 못하면, 너희 몸을 토막 내고 너희 집을 잿더미로 만들겠다."

The king answered and said to the Chaldeans, The thing is gone from me: if ye will not make known unto me the dream, with the interpretation thereof, ye shall be cut in pieces, and your houses shall be made a dunghill.

너희가 만일 꿈과 그 해석을 보이면 너희가 선물과 상과 큰 영광을 내게서 얻으리라 그런즉 꿈과 그 해석을 내게 보이라

풀이: "그러나 그 꿈과 해석을 보여 주면, 너희는 내게서 선물과 상과 큰 영예를 받을 것이다. 그러니 어서 그 꿈과 해석을 내게 보여라."

But if ye shew the dream, and the interpretation thereof, ye shall receive of me gifts and rewards and great honour: therefore shew me the dream, and the interpretation thereof.

그들이 다시 대답하여 가로되 청컨대 왕은 꿈을 종들에게 이르소서 그리하시면 우리가 해석하여 드리겠나이다

풀이: 그들은 다시 아뢰었다. "부디 왕께서 그 꿈을 종들에게 먼저 말씀해 주십시오. 그러면 저희가 풀어 드리겠습니다."

They answered again and said, Let the king tell his servants the dream, and we will shew the interpretation of it.

왕이 대답하여 가로되 내가 분명히 아노라 너희가 나의 명령이 내렸음을 보았으므로 시간을 천연하려 함이로다

풀이: 왕이 대답했다. "너희가 시간을 끌려 한다는 것을 나는 분명히 안다. 내 뜻이 이미 정해진 것을 보았기 때문이다."

The king answered and said, I know of certainty that ye would gain the time, because ye see the thing is gone from me.

너희가 만일 이 꿈을 나로 알게 하지 아니하면 너희를 처치할 법이 오직 하나이니 이는 너희가 거짓말과 망령된 말을 내 앞에서 꾸며 말하여 때가 변하기를 기다리려 함이니라 이제 그 꿈을 내게 알게 하라 그리하면 너희가 그 해석도 보일줄을 내가 알리라

풀이: "너희가 그 꿈을 알려 주지 못한다면, 너희에게 내릴 판결은 단 하나뿐이다. 너희는 형편이 바뀌기를 기다리며 내 앞에서 거짓되고 그럴듯한 말을 꾸며 댈 작정이렷다. 그러니 어서 그 꿈을 내게 말하라. 그래야 너희가 그 해석도 할 수 있다는 걸 내가 믿을 것이다."

But if ye will not make known unto me the dream, there is but one decree for you: for ye have prepared lying and corrupt words to speak before me, till the time be changed: therefore tell me the dream, and I shall know that ye can shew me the interpretation thereof.

갈대아 술사들이 왕 앞에 대답하여 가로되 세상에는 왕의 그 일을 보일 자가 하나도 없으므로 크고 권력 있는 왕이 이런 것으로 박수에게나 술객에게나 갈대아 술사에게 물은 자가 절대로 있지 아니하였나이다

풀이: 갈대아 술사들이 왕 앞에 아뢰었다. "세상 어디에도 왕께서 물으시는 그 일을 보여 드릴 사람은 없습니다. 그러기에 아무리 크고 권세 있는 왕이라도, 이런 것을 마술사나 주술사나 갈대아 술사에게 물은 적은 일찍이 없었습니다."

The Chaldeans answered before the king, and said, There is not a man upon the earth that can shew the king’s matter: therefore there is no king, lord, nor ruler, that asked such things at any magician, or astrologer, or Chaldean.

왕의 물으신 것은 희한한 일이라 육체와 함께 거하지 아니하는 신들 외에는 왕 앞에 그것을 보일 자가 없나이다 한지라

풀이: "왕께서 물으시는 것은 너무도 어려운 일입니다. 육신을 입고 사람들 사이에 살지 않는 신들 말고는, 그것을 왕께 보여 드릴 자가 없습니다."

And it is a rare thing that the king requireth, and there is none other that can shew it before the king, except the gods, whose dwelling is not with flesh.

왕이 이로 인하여 진노하고 통분하여 바벨론 모든 박사를 다 멸하라 명하니라

풀이: 이 말에 왕은 분노가 치밀어, 바벨론의 모든 현자를 죽이라고 명했다.

For this cause the king was angry and very furious, and commanded to destroy all the wise men of Babylon.

왕의 명령이 내리매 박사들은 죽게 되었고 다니엘과 그 동무도 죽이려고 찾았더라

풀이: 그 명령이 떨어지자 현자들은 죽게 되었고, 다니엘과 그 친구들도 죽이려고 찾아 나섰다.

And the decree went forth that the wise men should be slain; and they sought Daniel and his fellows to be slain.

왕의 시위대 장관 아리옥이 바벨론 박사들을 죽이러 나가매 다니엘이 명철하고 슬기로운 말로

풀이: 바벨론의 현자들을 죽이러 나선 왕의 호위대장 아리옥에게, 다니엘은 슬기롭고 분별 있는 말로 대응했다.

Then Daniel answered with counsel and wisdom to Arioch the captain of the king’s guard, which was gone forth to slay the wise men of Babylon:

왕의 장관 아리옥에게 물어 가로되 왕의 명령이 어찌 그리 급하뇨 아리옥이 그 일을 다니엘에게 고하매

풀이: 다니엘이 왕의 대장 아리옥에게 물었다. "왕의 명령이 어찌 이리도 다급합니까?" 그러자 아리옥은 자초지종을 다니엘에게 알려 주었다.

He answered and said to Arioch the king’s captain, Why is the decree so hasty from the king? Then Arioch made the thing known to Daniel.

다니엘이 들어가서 왕께 구하기를 기한하여 주시면 왕에게 그 해석을 보여 드리겠다 하니라

풀이: 다니엘은 왕에게 들어가, 시간을 주시면 그 해석을 왕께 보여 드리겠다고 청했다.

Then Daniel went in, and desired of the king that he would give him time, and that he would shew the king the interpretation.

이에 다니엘이 자기 집으로 돌아가서 그 동무 하나냐와 미사엘과 아사랴에게 그 일을 고하고

풀이: 그러고는 자기 집으로 돌아가, 친구 하나냐와 미사엘과 아사랴에게 그 일을 알렸다.

Then Daniel went to his house, and made the thing known to Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, his companions:

하늘에 계신 하나님이 이 은밀한 일에 대하여 긍휼히 여기사 자기 다니엘과 동무들이 바벨론의 다른 박사와 함께 죽임을 당치 않게 하시기를 그들로 구하게 하니라

풀이: 이 은밀한 일을 두고 하늘의 신께 자비를 구하자고 — 다니엘과 친구들이 바벨론의 다른 현자들과 함께 죽임당하지 않게 해 달라고 함께 빌자고 했다.

That they would desire mercies of the God of heaven concerning this secret; that Daniel and his fellows should not perish with the rest of the wise men of Babylon.

이에 이 은밀한 것이 밤에 이상으로 다니엘에게 나타나 보이매 다니엘이 하늘에 계신 하나님을 찬송하니라

풀이: 그러자 밤에 환상 가운데 그 은밀한 일이 다니엘에게 밝혀졌다. 다니엘은 하늘의 신을 찬송했다.

Then was the secret revealed unto Daniel in a night vision. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven.

다니엘이 말하여 가로되 영원 무궁히 하나님의 이름을 찬송할 것은 지혜와 권능이 그에게 있음이로다

풀이: 다니엘이 말했다. "신의 이름이 영원토록 찬송받으시기를. 지혜와 권능이 그분의 것이기 때문이다."

Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his:

그는 때와 기한을 변하시며 왕들을 폐하시고 왕들을 세우시며 지혜자에게 지혜를 주시고 지식자에게 총명을 주시는도다

풀이: "그분은 때와 시기를 바꾸시고, 왕들을 끌어내리고 왕들을 세우신다. 지혜로운 자에게 지혜를 주시고, 분별 있는 자에게 깨달음을 주신다."

And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:

그는 깊고 은밀한 일을 나타내시고 어두운데 있는 것을 아시며 또 빛이 그와 함께 있도다

풀이: "그분은 깊고 은밀한 것을 드러내시고, 어둠 속에 있는 것을 아신다. 빛이 바로 그분과 함께 있다."

He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him.

나의 열조의 하나님이여 주께서 이제 내게 지혜와 능력을 주시고 우리가 주께 구한바 일을 내게 알게 하셨사오니 내가 주께 감사하고 주를 찬양하나이다 곧 주께서 왕의 그 일을 내게 보이셨나이다 하니라

풀이: "내 조상들의 신이시여, 제게 지혜와 능력을 주시고, 저희가 구하던 것을 이제 제게 알려 주셨으니 감사하고 찬양합니다. 왕이 물으신 그 일을 제게 보여 주셨습니다."

I thank thee, and praise thee, O thou God of my fathers, who hast given me wisdom and might, and hast made known unto me now what we desired of thee: for thou hast now made known unto us the king’s matter.

이에 다니엘이 왕이 바벨론 박사들을 멸하라 명한 아리옥에게로 가서 이르매 그에게 이같이 이르되 바벨론 박사들을 멸하지 말고 나를 왕의 앞으로 인도하라 그리하면 내가 그 해석을 왕께 보여 드리리라

풀이: 그래서 다니엘은, 왕이 바벨론의 현자들을 죽이라 명해 둔 아리옥에게 찾아가 말했다. "바벨론의 현자들을 죽이지 마십시오. 나를 왕 앞으로 데려가 주시면, 내가 그 해석을 왕께 보여 드리겠습니다."

Therefore Daniel went in unto Arioch, whom the king had ordained to destroy the wise men of Babylon: he went and said thus unto him; Destroy not the wise men of Babylon: bring me in before the king, and I will shew unto the king the interpretation.

이에 아리옥이 다니엘을 데리고 급히 왕의 앞에 들어가서 고하되 내가 사로잡혀 온 유다 자손 중에서 한 사람을 얻었나이다 그가 그 해석을 왕께 아시게 하리이다

풀이: 아리옥은 다니엘을 급히 왕 앞으로 데려가 아뢰었다. "사로잡혀 온 유다 사람들 가운데서 한 사람을 찾아냈습니다. 그가 왕께 그 해석을 알려 드릴 것입니다."

Then Arioch brought in Daniel before the king in haste, and said thus unto him, I have found a man of the captives of Judah, that will make known unto the king the interpretation.

왕이 대답하여 벨드사살이라 이름한 다니엘에게 이르되 내가 얻은 꿈과 그 해석을 네가 능히 내게 알게 하겠느냐

풀이: 왕이 벨드사살이라 불리는 다니엘에게 물었다. "내가 꾼 그 꿈과 해석을, 네가 정말 내게 알려 줄 수 있느냐?"

The king answered and said to Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, Art thou able to make known unto me the dream which I have seen, and the interpretation thereof?

다니엘이 왕 앞에 대답하여 가로되 왕의 물으신바 은밀한 것은 박사나 술객이나 박수나 점장이가 능히 왕께 보일 수 없으되

풀이: 다니엘이 왕 앞에서 대답했다. "왕께서 물으시는 그 은밀한 일은, 어떤 현자도 주술사도 마술사도 점쟁이도 왕께 보여 드릴 수 없습니다."

Daniel answered in the presence of the king, and said, The secret which the king hath demanded cannot the wise men, the astrologers, the magicians, the soothsayers, shew unto the king;

오직 은밀한 것을 나타내실 자는 하늘에 계신 하나님이시라 그가 느부갓네살왕에게 후일에 될 일을 알게 하셨나이다 왕의 꿈 곧 왕이 침상에서 뇌 속으로 받은 이상은 이러하니이다

풀이: "그러나 하늘에는 은밀한 것을 드러내시는 신이 계십니다. 그분이 느부갓네살 왕께 먼 훗날 일어날 일을 알려 주셨습니다. 왕께서 잠자리에서 머릿속에 보신 꿈과 환상은 이러합니다."

But there is a God in heaven that revealeth secrets, and maketh known to the king Nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the latter days. Thy dream, and the visions of thy head upon thy bed, are these;

왕이여 왕이 침상에 나아가서 장래 일을 생각하실 때에 은밀한 것을 나타내시는 이가 장래 일을 왕에게 알게 하셨사오며

풀이: "왕이시여, 왕께서 잠자리에 누워 앞으로 될 일을 생각하실 때, 은밀한 것을 드러내시는 분이 장차 일어날 일을 왕께 알려 주신 것입니다."

As for thee, O king, thy thoughts came into thy mind upon thy bed, what should come to pass hereafter: and he that revealeth secrets maketh known to thee what shall come to pass.

내게 이 은밀한 것을 나타내심은 내 지혜가 다른 인생보다 나은 것이 아니라 오직 그 해석을 왕에게 알려서 왕의 마음으로 생각하던 것을 왕으로 알게 하려 하심이니이다

풀이: "이 은밀한 일이 제게 밝혀진 것은, 제 지혜가 다른 누구보다 뛰어나서가 아닙니다. 다만 그 해석을 왕께 알려 드려, 왕께서 마음속으로 품으신 생각을 깨닫게 하시려는 것입니다."

But as for me, this secret is not revealed to me for any wisdom that I have more than any living, but for their sakes that shall make known the interpretation to the king, and that thou mightest know the thoughts of thy heart.

왕이여 왕이 한 큰 신상을 보셨나이다 그 신상이 왕의 앞에 섰는데 크고 광채가 특심하며 그 모양이 심히 두려우니

풀이: "왕이시여, 왕께서는 거대한 신상 하나를 보셨습니다. 그 신상은 왕 앞에 우뚝 서 있었는데, 어마어마하게 크고 눈부시게 빛났으며, 그 모습이 무척 두려웠습니다."

Thou, O king, sawest, and behold a great image. This great image, whose brightness was excellent, stood before thee; and the form thereof was terrible.

그 우상의 머리는 정금이요 가슴과 팔들은 은이요 배와 넓적다리는 놋이요

풀이: "그 신상의 머리는 순금이요, 가슴과 두 팔은 은이요, 배와 두 넓적다리는 놋이었습니다."

This image’s head was of fine gold, his breast and his arms of silver, his belly and his thighs of brass,

그 종아리는 철이요 그 발은 얼마는 철이요 얼마는 진흙이었나이다

풀이: "두 종아리는 철이요, 두 발은 일부는 철이고 일부는 진흙이었습니다."

His legs of iron, his feet part of iron and part of clay.

또 왕이 보신즉 사람의 손으로 하지 아니하고 뜨인 돌이 신상의 철과 진흙의 발을 쳐서 부숴뜨리매

풀이: "왕께서 보고 계시는데, 사람의 손이 닿지 않은 돌 하나가 떨어져 나와, 철과 진흙으로 된 그 신상의 발을 쳐서 산산이 부수었습니다."

Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces.

때에 철과 진흙과 놋과 은과 금이 다 부숴져 여름 타작마당의 겨 같이 되어 바람에 불려 간곳이 없었고 우상을 친 돌은 태산을 이루어 온 세계에 가득하였었나이다

풀이: "그러자 철과 진흙과 놋과 은과 금이 한꺼번에 부서져, 여름 타작마당의 겨처럼 되어 바람에 날려 자취도 없이 사라졌습니다. 그러나 신상을 친 그 돌은 큰 산이 되어 온 땅을 가득 채웠습니다."

Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.

그 꿈이 이러한즉 내가 이제 그 해석을 왕 앞에 진술하리이다

풀이: "그 꿈이 이러하니, 이제 그 해석을 왕 앞에 아뢰겠습니다."

This is the dream; and we will tell the interpretation thereof before the king.

왕이여 왕은 열왕의 왕이시라 하늘의 하나님이 나라와 권세와 능력과 영광을 왕에게 주셨고

풀이: "왕이시여, 왕은 모든 왕 위의 왕이십니다. 하늘의 신이 왕께 나라와 권세와 능력과 영광을 주셨습니다."

Thou, O king, art a king of kings: for the God of heaven hath given thee a kingdom, power, and strength, and glory.

인생들과 들짐승과 공중의 새들, 어느곳에 있는 것을 무론하고 그것들을 왕의 손에 붙이사 다 다스리게 하셨으니 왕은 곧 그 금머리니이다

풀이: "사람이든 들짐승이든 하늘의 새든, 어디에 있는 것이든 그 모두를 왕의 손에 맡겨 다스리게 하셨습니다. 그러니 왕이 바로 그 금 머리입니다."

And wheresoever the children of men dwell, the beasts of the field and the fowls of the heaven hath he given into thine hand, and hath made thee ruler over them all. Thou art this head of gold.

왕의 후에 왕만 못한 다른 나라가 일어날 것이요 세째로 또 놋 같은 나라가 일어나서 온 세계를 다스릴 것이며

풀이: "왕의 뒤를 이어 왕보다 못한 또 다른 나라가 일어날 것이고, 그다음 세 번째로 놋 같은 나라가 일어나 온 땅을 다스릴 것입니다."

And after thee shall arise another kingdom inferior to thee, and another third kingdom of brass, which shall bear rule over all the earth.

네째 나라는 강하기가 철 같으리니 철은 모든 물건을 부숴뜨리고 이기는 것이라 철이 모든 것을 부수는 것 같이 그 나라가 뭇 나라를 부숴뜨리고 빻을 것이며

풀이: "네 번째 나라는 철처럼 강할 것입니다. 철이 모든 것을 부수고 짓이기듯, 그 나라도 철이 모든 것을 깨뜨리듯 다른 모든 나라를 부수고 으스러뜨릴 것입니다."

And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron: forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces and subdueth all things: and as iron that breaketh all these, shall it break in pieces and bruise.

왕께서 그 발과 발가락이 얼마는 토기장이의 진흙이요 얼마는 철인 것을 보셨은즉 그 나라가 나누일 것이며 왕께서 철과 진흙이 섞인 것을 보셨은즉 그 나라가 철의 든든함이 있을 것이나

풀이: "발과 발가락이 일부는 토기장이의 진흙이고 일부는 철인 것을 보셨으니, 그 나라는 갈라질 것입니다. 그러나 철과 진흙이 섞인 것을 보셨듯, 그 안에는 철의 단단함도 얼마간 남아 있을 것입니다."

And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters’ clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay.

그 발가락이 얼마는 철이요 얼마는 진흙인즉 그 나라가 얼마는 든든하고 얼마는 부숴질만할 것이며

풀이: "발가락이 일부는 철이고 일부는 진흙인 것처럼, 그 나라는 얼마쯤은 단단하고 얼마쯤은 부서지기 쉬울 것입니다."

And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken.

왕께서 철과 진흙이 섞인 것을 보셨은즉 그들이 다른 인종과 서로 섞일 것이나 피차에 합하지 아니함이 철과 진흙이 합하지 않음과 같으리이다

풀이: "철이 진흙과 섞인 것을 보셨으니, 그들은 혼인으로 서로 뒤섞이려 하겠지만 끝내 하나로 붙지는 못할 것입니다. 마치 철이 진흙과 끝내 섞이지 않는 것처럼 말입니다."

And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay.

이 열왕의 때에 하늘의 하나님이 한 나라를 세우시리니 이것은 영원히 망하지도 아니할 것이요 그 국권이 다른 백성에게로 돌아가지도 아니할 것이요 도리어 이 모든 나라를 쳐서 멸하고 영원히 설 것이라

풀이: "그 여러 왕의 시대에, 하늘의 신이 한 나라를 세우실 것입니다. 그 나라는 영원히 무너지지 않고, 그 주권이 다른 백성에게 넘어가지도 않을 것입니다. 도리어 그 나라가 앞의 모든 나라를 쳐서 멸하고, 영원히 굳게 설 것입니다."

And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.

왕이 사람의 손으로 아니하고 산에서 뜨인 돌이 철과 놋과 진흙과 은과 금을 부숴뜨린 것을 보신 것은 크신 하나님이 장래 일을 왕께 알게 하신 것이라 이 꿈이 참되고 이 해석이 확실하니이다

풀이: "사람의 손이 닿지 않은 채 산에서 떨어져 나온 돌이 철과 놋과 진흙과 은과 금을 부수는 것을 왕께서 보셨으니, 이는 위대하신 신이 장차 될 일을 왕께 알려 주신 것입니다. 이 꿈은 참되고, 그 해석은 확실합니다."

Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure.

이에 느부갓네살왕이 엎드려 다니엘에게 절하고 명하여 예물과 향품을 그에게 드리게 하니라

풀이: 그러자 느부갓네살 왕은 얼굴을 땅에 대고 엎드려 다니엘에게 경배하며, 그에게 예물과 향을 바치라고 명했다.

Then the king Nebuchadnezzar fell upon his face, and worshipped Daniel, and commanded that they should offer an oblation and sweet odours unto him.

왕이 대답하여 다니엘에게 이르되 너희 하나님은 참으로 모든 신의 신이시요 모든 왕의 주재시로다 네가 능히 이 은밀한 것을 나타내었으니 네 하나님은 또 은밀한 것을 나타내시는 자시로다

The king answered unto Daniel, and said, Of a truth it is, that your God is a God of gods, and a Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, seeing thou couldest reveal this secret.

왕이 이에 다니엘을 높여 귀한 선물을 많이 주며 세워 바벨론 온 도를 다스리게 하며 또 바벨론 모든 박사의 어른을 삼았으며

Then the king made Daniel a great man, and gave him many great gifts, and made him ruler over the whole province of Babylon, and chief of the governors over all the wise men of Babylon.

왕이 또 다니엘의 청구대로 사드락과 메삭과 아벳느고를 세워 바벨론 도의 일을 다스리게 하였고 다니엘은 왕궁에 있었더라

Then Daniel requested of the king, and he set Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed–nego, over the affairs of the province of Babylon: but Daniel sat in the gate of the king.
